Nope your right.

The ones that get coated are just plain old metal pipes. You can have your pipes recoated.

Yep, the lift needs a twelve foot cieling

hey,littlecobra 08-10-2005 10:00 AM

Gary suggested I get new pipes to get coated. Evidently there are tiny holes on the bottom of my current pipes, and instead of going to the expense and trouble of getting my old pipes recoated, to just get completely new ones the way I want them when I'm ready to replace. He thinks they will need to be replaced, not repaired. I will do the plain metal with cermacoat in white.

thanks tho'. I hope somebody buys your lift and pipes! :)

hey, Earl. hope all is doing ok today. Our 'childhood' families can be a challenge. **)

4RE KLR 08-10-2005 10:19 AM

Yea those metal ones only last so long and Gary would surely know if they needed to be replaced.

I really like the lift but I do not want to move it if we find a place in Oregon. The pipes are new But I don't know how long it will be before I get another cobra. It would be nice to keep them but sometimes you just gotta move on.

Speaking of ask me about......
This morning at 6:35AM a lady comes to our door and rings the doorbel and asked for a job cleaning the house. I will let you guess what I told her. at 6:35AM !!!!

4RE KLR 08-10-2005 10:20 AM

Over 300 pages on this thread.

Wow, is this the longest thread CC has had or has there been another one longer?

Ron61 08-10-2005 10:26 AM

Steve,

What are you complaining about her coming to your house that late for? Some time back my phone rang at around 5 AM and I didn't recognize the name so I answered it. Believe it or not, it was some woman wanting to know if I would like to buy some lovely hand knitted pot holders. I figured she must have stayed up all night knitting them to be calling people that early. :3DSMILE:

Ron

Both girls and the wife are home with fevers....hope me and the grandaughter don't get it.......
Only got a few hours sleep last so I am suprised I feel so good.

Looking forward to the weekend so I can work on the Cobra...I got a few kinks worked out so things should move along pretty good till I reach another kink.

Also waiting for 330pm........................................

trularin 08-10-2005 11:08 AM

When you are done, can I borrow Dave's Credit card??? :D

It takes forever for parts to arrive.

Eric of Kit Car is doing a story on the London Cobra Show. I think I was vote the car with the most problems.

You know it's bad when people you do not even know come up and say, "you're that guy who had to fix his car every hour in London."

4RE KLR 08-10-2005 11:38 AM

Ron
Yea I was up and around but the kids were still fast asleep. She could hardly speak english and she wanted to comein right then and start cleaning the house.

Now mind you my wife keeps this house spotless, always. She has never let this house get the least bit unorganized or messed up. She will enen come out and help me clean up the garage and the flower beds.

Yes I have a good one and I am not afraid to say so.

Ron61 08-10-2005 12:24 PM

Steve,

I was up and had been for over an hour, but I just found it hard to believe that anyone would start calling numbers at random at 5 AM to try and sell pot holders. Now if she were to call back and offer to come change that clutch, I might talk to her.

4RE KLR 08-10-2005 12:27 PM

LOL :)

Ron61 08-10-2005 12:32 PM

Steve,

Just for fun, next time you are in Oregon, why don't you stick a Calif. license plate on your vehicle. The way things are going here, being so close to the border, I wouldn't be surprised to see border guards soon. :D

4RE KLR 08-10-2005 02:26 PM

Nothing from California would surprise me any longer. I just weep for you my friend that have to put up with that non sense each day.

I am surprised that the idea of catalaytic (sp) converters have not beem made madatory for cows, YET!

flipper35 08-10-2005 05:40 PM

I bet hearing someone at the DMV saying "No problem" would surprise almost all Californians.

BMK 08-11-2005 01:10 AM

Now here's one person who rings at all odd hours.

%/

Just don't give me your home number as I always get mixed up on the time diferences. I get mad when Finishline don't answer then I work out it's only 4.30am..

Have been known to wake the guys up in California early and the residents of Indiana at bedtime..

Bernie

trularin 08-11-2005 05:25 AM

Well...good morning.

1 week till vacation, I can barely wait.

Ron61 08-11-2005 06:19 AM

Brent,

If any person at a Calif. DMV said "No Problem," the people would immediately leave and go to see what state they are in.

Ron :)

4RE KLR 08-11-2005 07:37 AM

No that is not true.

The way I see it if anyone at the California DMV said "no problem" that would be grounds for termination.

Also note that is the only issue noted in their policy that will cuase immediate termination. Everything else is considered exceptable. That's why when you go there it takes two hours for the cow in front of you at the service desk to help you.

Here in Texas the slowpoke syndrome is rampent at the DMV. Once my wife and I stood in line for over and hour and when we got to the counter for our renewal the FAT lady looked up and said "Did I call over here?", "I said, Did I call you over here?" "Listen, it is my breaktime and I don't want you standing there during my break so back up!"

We backed up (two steps) to the front of the line and this cow sat there for twenty five minuetes and looked around and did nothing, just sat there.

Then she said "It is plain to see you ain't leavin so get over here" We walked up and handed her our paperwork and she said "well now I have to go to the restroom" Another twenty minuetes before she got back. It was ridiculas.

She was the only one in the office.

When she came back I said " ma'm I am so very happy to see you made it, for a second there we thought you had fell in, I was just about to call an ambualnce to come rescure you"

hey,littlecobra 08-11-2005 07:46 AM

I thought I'd be smart and register the cobra in Kaufman county, where we used to live. The DMV office is small, but not crowded and thought I'd get thru the process pretty smoothly. Well, you gotta register in the county you live in. ugh. Dallas county. Went smooth, but yeah, slow as molasses!
Anything is better than kalifornia, tho'.
I'm grateful!!!
K

flipper35 08-11-2005 10:29 AM

Actually my registration at the DMV went well. Getting the correct information on how to register it properly did not. I can't imagine how much worse it is now.

Ron61 08-11-2005 10:58 AM

Brent,

Hearing anyone in our DMV say anything except what do you want in a nasty way would be a surprise. Of course that is after you sit for 30 minutes because you made an appointment and they take the first people in. The person you may need to see could be sitting there the whole time doing nothing but won't see you until all the people who drew numbers before you are gone. Making an appointment here is useless. :(

Ron
