(ok, ok, I give, I'm too honest--- you couldn't pass on the infield, and I think they may have been taking a little "break" waiting til they could swoop past me on the track.) But that's ok. I tell everybody up front to feel free to pass me. It's ok. I'm being conscientious of my fuel consumption. Anyway, it was tons of fun! No, I don't pass anyone, but I don't mind that either.
The funny thing is you have to remind yourself to "breathe" after a fast turn, or chicane (sp?) or coming out of infield. Breathe, breathe. Like a having a baby, for heaven's sake!
Lot more fun, I'll tell you! Just wait, Mikey, just wait.....

Kristen my wife was a bit PO'd when we did our hi-speed driving class. on the last day we could take our own cars on the course after passing tech inspection. Six laps but no passing unless you were given a "go ahead" signal by the driver in front of you. Of course none of the other(male)drivers would give her the signal. She was running with Porches, WRX's, couple of Mustangs and Vettes.

now go home, Mike, and play with your little models....

nah, just kidding. I feel for you. At 14 I had no focus. How refreshing you do. I know MY 14 yr old has NO FOCUS. The 12 yr old has lots more focus. You know more now about Cobra's and engines than I ever will. I commend you.
Now, I'm gonna win. (the contest) I just know it!!! :p

I spend a lot of time "waving" people by. It's ok. My tires are old, no roll cage, I'm not really interested in going way tooooo fast. 4 kids still at home, I'm not interested in seeing my life before my eyes! It's still a rush, tho'. Thinking about how fast I could go, if I really really knew that nothing would happen.....
I had a low front tire after the first session, the crew plugged it, and pretty much said, don't run these tires on the track anymore. Finished the last session and had a ball the whole time. Took Gary M. (the guy I bought the car from) on a trip around a few times. I wasn't going too fast, nervous about the tire blowing, but he was holding on pretty tightly. I'm not real smooth yet, and still looking for those apexes. I KNOW they're out there somewhere! :D I thought a lot of Gary trusting me enough to take him for a ride. The pics are funny; he's a pretty big dude, and his helmet towers over mine.... The passenger side has no roll bar, or harness, so ya know, you gotta think of your passenger. I had the harness installed on the driver side. Way out of correctness, tho'. It's bright blue! The guys groaned about that. What in the world was I thinking, they said? I liked the bright blue! Cute. (girl for ya)
So, sometime I'll start a thread about new tires. Really don't want to get new tires, but in the interest of safety, I will.

Mike will have to wait. He should be planning the event to get his car. If he starts right now, he could have enough to pickup a good car by the time he's ... 35. :LOL:
