Chopper,
If you need to pigeon-hole me into a label, liberal-libertarian or Classic liberal fit me better than most other labels. That being said, the DNC has as little in common with me as the current batch of neo-conservatives. I identify more with Ron Paul (though not perfectly) than any other current candidate for pres that I know of. Regarding immigration - there is a process to become an American citizen and it needs to be followed regardless of race or nation of origin. Anyone not following that procedure is breaking the law and needs to be dealt with accordingly. Steve |

CdC, Are you a member of SAAC? Do you have a registry? Cobra Country had them a while ago. The new one is due out soon. Buy one and read the section on COB/COX cars. I'd go home and post up some info from mine, but they get a little nutty about copyright. Oh, And guess what...with the exception of CSX2287 (American body), and CSX2131 (English body) all the rest of the Shelby Cobra Daytonas had bodies made in Italy by Carrozzeria Gransport. So are you one of those poser types with some extra cash who has a Cobra so that you can say 'look at me, I'm cool'? The UK is lame when it comes to cars, huh? Do you know what cars like the MG-TC did for sports cars in this country? Did you know that an English chassis/German engine combo is currently leading F1? Dd you know that in the last 50 years only an English chassis/German engine car has won LeMans in their first attempt? Ever seen a DBR1 or DB4 GTZ? Personally, I think the DBR1 (along with the front engined Scarab) is one of the sexiest cars ever made. (the DBR1 is on the right, next to a DB3S) http://www.astonmartins.com/racing/am611.jpg Of course, there are always Jag Ds that beat just about everything in the mid 50's, though the Merc 300SLRs were giving the Jags a good run for their money until the Merc team was disbanded in '55. http://www.ibcholdings.com.au/cars/j...s/DSCF0526.JPG Do you know what this is? http://www.thecobraferrariwars.com/i...ed_300x197.jpg:LOL: Did you know that Fords GT40s were also built in England, and was based on the Lola GT (also English with a Ford motor - except when Mecom put a Chevy in his)? Gt40s won LeMans 4 times in a row. You think a Cobra is fast and brutal, try a British Caterham 7 R500 - it is capable of beating a Ferrari Enzo. Are Italian cars lame also? The English know more about cars than you obviously do. Maybe you should just do the honourable thing and admit it. Steve |
Everyone...cool it!
Thank you for your expected cooperation. P.S. Actually Steve, while the Mark I, II and III (street) Ford GTs were indeed built in England, the allmighty kickass Mark IV of Foyt/Gurney was All American, thankyouverymuch. And yes, the Brit Daytona was the bestest IMO. |

Steve, I don't hate you. You know a while back you likened yourself to Thomas Jefferson. Well, Steve, you're no Thomas Jefferson. In fact you're much more like John Adams. Do you know why? Bernie |
Maybe housewives should give up daytime soaps for CLUB COBRA. History, drama, suspense.....WOW:LOL:   ....we have it all right here!

Actually, that does sound like me - I like it. |

Yep on the LM MKIV. Built by Kar-Kraft if memory serves. First all-American LM win. Technically it wasn't even a GT40, but most people (even me) call it that anyway. I've always though it would have been cool to have done up the paint scheme with a red car with white/ blue stripes, blue car with red, white stripes...you get the picture. Much like the Kjell Kvale Sebring MGBs. http://www.sportscarmarket.com/img/profiles/349/et1.jpg Alan Mann might not have been too keen on the idea as the UK colours are blue, white, and red instead of the American red, white, and blue...:JEKYLHYDE  but I think it would have been more of a statement. Especially over that coppery-bronze-with-a-hint-of-maroon #3 I may disagree with you on some stuff, but I remember your comment about the DBR1 a couple of years ago, and anybody who knows of Jack Sears AC highway terror (and likes it more than the regular Daytonas) is going to be at least a little bit OK in my book. Perhaps I would take your back. CdC, If you're fine with you being a poser - well, good for you. Steve |

CdC, If you're fine with you being a poser - well, good for you. Poser, yes it's good for me - one who tries to fit in but with exaggeration. If I were a true poser, I'd be going along with your useless knowledge rants. Now, would you please admit to being a clinchpoop or at least that you are avoiding seeking treatment for that condition? The truth will set you free! By the way, Steve do you earnestly believe you can compensate for A lack of true knowledge by doubling your efforts? Viewing your posts, it sure seems that way and I'll bet that there's no end to what you can't do in life. My recommendation, see someone about the clinchpoop issue, STAT! Also, think about getting a high clonic. |

It appears everyone (me too) has assplained their individual views on the multitude of subjects which have been raised these several pages to their own personal satisfaction...what more might be said would only serve to dilute such utterly valuble dialog on the matters of the day.
Every thread has a life which must end. finis... ;) |
