What engine is that? Distributor on an angle to the right (Chrysler is left) and up front. Hmmmm, 215 Buick/Olds/Pontiac or Rover maybe?

Aluminum Buick, and I thought it was a 221, but I can't remember. I do know it is the same as the TR8. That I do remember. He belongs to the MG club of northern Florida, and has sent me lots of work. When I had the shop in S.F. Ca. MG was an everyday car as were all Brittish makes.

221 cid was the original Ford small block, then 260, 289, etc. 215 cid was the standard "GM" block in alloy that was later bought and develeped further by Rover. I'm pretty sure Rover made them in both iron and alloy versions over the years.

I'm surprised I didn't immediatly recognize that engine, indeed time is taking it's toll. I had an Olds station wagon with the little 215, four barrel and four speed, in a WAGON no less! Interesting little car, quite 'peppy' for what it was. The perfect engine for an MG swap.

I always thought the MG bonnet opened hinge forward like the TR6. (?)

Nice set up over all, wish I had a go of it for a few hours.
