Actually guys, I don't believe it is any worse now than it ever has been, and 'end times' smacks of religious hysteria. Look at the past a little, and consider how Europe felt when 50% of the population was wiped out with the Black Death in the Middle Ages over a ten year period, or in the 1940s when London almost burned to the ground in the Blitz, or when Hitler tried to kill all the Jews. I KNOW it is a cliche to say "you never had it so good", but we are living at the zenith of human endeavor and are surrounded by good people, great inventions and wonderful experiences.

The problem, IMHO, is the fourth estate has become completely obsessed with bad news and trivial reporting. One headline like "Student Kills Self in Front of 150 Classmates" can (and should!!) disturb us immensely, but that same day, 200 million other students went happily on their way NOT killing themselves. We have all become inured to this bad news and trivia that we have started to extrapolate relatively isolated incidents into a mass hysteria.

Instant and pervasive communication is a curse and a blessing and novel to the late 20th and early 21st century.

Things in isolation are dreadful, things in general are well!

PS LOL...Ed, don't wind up the ignorant, there are no 'end times', at least not in the biblical sense!
