Barney Frank has consistently favored Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac 'forcing' banks and other lending institutions to underwrite loans for people who couldn’t afford them. There's your 'frank force' steve.........

In 2005, the Republicans passed a bill to increase regulations of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac which was voted against by the Democratic members. The bill wasn’t put on the floor for a vote because the Republicans knew they couldn’t get 60 votes to pass the bill.

Quote: vrm...Greenspan even said that it was not the selling of the subprimes as that has been happening for 30 years???,,,,,, another made up comment, loans to less than qualified borrowers have been around since man discovered credit!.

Perry,
I'm not going to defend Frank, as I think that the SNL skit portyaying him was entirely too kind.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21097872/

I was paraphrasing Greenspan, which is why I did not use quotes.
I read the entire transcript of the interview a few weeks ago. You may want to do the same before you make accusations you can't support.

I really find it interesting that you like to accuse people of making things up when you clearly don't have even a basic grasp of the facts yourself.

Frank and Dodd both fought oversight on Fannie and Freddie. Read my post above about Frank's relationship with Fannie. Frank needs to be investigated.

BTW, MSNBC is not the best source for accurate news IMO...

SP,
I agree that there needs to be some investigation done, though I would prefer some bi-partisan tar and feathering. I can't stand Frank either, but he is not the only one to blame. I live in MA, and I I don't know anybody that will admit to voting for him.

And I agree that MSNBC is not the best source - neither is Fox, WorldNetDaily or MoveOn. In this case I could not find the website with the BBC interview transcript that I read a few weeks ago, and this was the best that I could do. If Perry wants to try and prove me wrong (he can't) he can find it himself (he won't - he would rather resort to unfounded accusations).

Steve

Frank should be investigated and put on trial if the evidence is there. He was the Chair of the house finance commitee while having a homosexual relationship with an executive at Fannie it about 2005. There was a conflict of interest at the very least, but I think it could easily be criminal if evidence is found that favors were done by Frank because of his relationship.

Chris Dodd should be investigated as well IMO. BTW, I am a conservative independent. I quite the Republican party a long time ago. I can't stand politicians that look out for their interest while they screw the people. This country needs to be taken back. My.02
