Where the money comes from?

I saw in one of the newspapers a reference using time to compare money. So many seconds for $1 Million and so on and it was unbelievable at the years for a Trillion. Our whole darn Govt. and seemingly much of society has lost any concept of what money is and that you can't just print more any time that you need it. They want to create work, maybe they should think abut opening some of the old Gold mines up again.
