Question Mid-States question ?????

Hey.

Trying to mount the slave cylinder to the
round tube frame.
Their are no mounting holes from the factory.

Does anyone have a picture of how
it is attached to the frame ??

Thanks,
BC

You will either have to fab a bracket to hang off of the tranny mount....or make a bracket to hang off the frame rail. I did the latter with my SV. It's a box frame, but it's the same concept. I took a piece of solid round bar....drilled it and tapped it for the bolt that goes through the slave cylinder rod bearing.....and welded it to the frame rail.

FinishLine sells a slave cylinder kit which mounts the cylinder on a bracket and the bracket to the block/bellhousing interface. It's clean and compact. It's also $175.

I didn't purchase the kit, but I duplicated it with some 1/4" flat stock, a slave cylinder from NAPA, and an afternoon of cutting, shaping, and fitting. Total cost was about $75, including stainless fasteners.

Instead of the mockup drill bit you see here, I purchased a CNC pushrod ($13, I think) and cut it down to size.

I took this pic off of a Midstates car - this is how they do it.

For mine, I fabbed a "Z" shaped bracket that came off of the rear engine mount bolt. With a couple of triangular webs on each side, I mounted the cylinder through one of them. I'll upload a pic of what I have tonite.
