You could walk into the DMV on Jan 2nd and toss down all you your paperwork and hope for the best, but you could come up empty handed.

There were some guys in line that paid their fees on Jan 2nd last year.

In regards to the TOPS: did anyone notice our california courts have ruled that the police can not stop you just to see why you have one. You are entitled to drive anywhere you like with it. This post is directed at the Pasadena policeman who feels it is his right and obligation to stop every cobra with one. .......

Two more questions : it appears that since the car is new it is " not" registered yet in any State..Will this have any effect on the SB100 here in CA ? Also , let`s say for some reason I do not get the SB 100 this year..Can I get a TOP to drive the car until next year??...Thx ..Great feedback.

2.) Yes, but. Yes you can get a TOP, but they're pretty stingy with them. I did get a 90 TOP, but when I went to renew they only gave me a 30 day and asked questions. I think you'd have trouble getting TOPs for a full year.
