Oops forgot them. Ned is probably getting a nasty e-mail ready right now.

AC Cars sold them, coil spring cars set up for 289s, as AC 289Sports models after Ford and Shelby lost interest in AC Cars. I don't think the production or sales literature mentions the word Cobra. Not every Ford powered AC was called a Cobra by AC Cars. The RS2.6 models had a six cylinder Ford engine and were made before Cobra production started and for a while at the same time as "Cobras". As far as that goes not every coil spring car in this series even got a factory installed engine. Some were sold without engines and the first owner had to finish the drive train. COX6126 for example, was sold new and shipped to the USA less engine and transmission. Holman-Moody was given the task of outfitting the car with a 427 Ford engine.

Some AC 289 Sports owners call their cars Cobras and some don't taking the position that they are just the next model of AC because they weren't part of the Shelby/Ford/AC contracts.
