Nice banjos! Need me some o' them!

LightNFast 03-25-2013 06:06 AM

Looking good!

As a side note, it appears the union washers are reversed. The fiber washer should be on the inside....

Actually you would be right...............
Everything is finger tight until I get all assorted parts to avoid extra gasket needs.
Nice eye..............

I Forgot just how Handsome Nick is LOL

The price just went up on that job, we need a better model for the job ;-) Interesting to note 3 different lengths of rear control arms for the 289's I have seen. Shelby/Ken Miles comp, Hi Tech and the new Shelby ones. There's not a lot of options on spring length for the rears. Jeff finished up with the Ken Miles comp ones, perfect for the style of his build huh?!

MAStuart 04-01-2013 02:29 PM

Nick The plans I have call for a spring length of 41 1/2 when the spring is flat. The rear lower a arm is 12 3/8 center to center length. These as the numbers for the rear of the car. Mark

Ah Grasshopper, the elusive Cobra has many measurements and standards were not very consistant. Hand made car = hand made variance......

mickmate 04-02-2013 11:04 AM

Thanks Mark, that jives with what I have.

1985 CCX 04-08-2013 09:01 AM

Fitting.................
Needed to get a bit more length on the lower A-arm as I am running big tires versus the thin wire wheel type. A-arm work was a success and now fully adjustable with big tires....

LeMans covers are back............ :p
Went with powder coat color that was close to Cad Plating. The plating thing was too complicated from here.....

If it makes you feel any worse, I think I paid $275 back in 1998 for mine.
