Looking fantastic! Great work as usual!

Priming engine using the oil cooler lines and a good pump. That ensures the oil pump is primed and the cooler is full by first start. Poison of choice Royal Purple

Thanks for posting that Map, that is cool. Guess when I finish the FIA project I need to start on something like that....
|
The trick would be make a quick coupler to drop the trailer when not needed hook up to a short dolly wheel/axle set up.

Last check before the body gets off and transport for paint prep at home...
http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...DSC08474_1.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08547.jpg Now the good stuff in the tank. No stinking ethanol/water/additive and what else mix in my car. Guys putting $10k engines in this kind of cars and then being cheap on fuel. Ruin over time their high performance motors. http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08556.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08557.jpg Off to the dyno Dallas Mustang Parts & Accessories Superstore - 1.800.Mustang where the engine will be tuned and broken in. http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08558.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08562.jpg |

Looks like you could get two cobras on that truck! - Allen. |
John, just the body work - paint at work.
Allen, yes on that flat bed fit two of then easy. Yesterday evening Archy of Dallas Mustang called me and said the car is ready. He drove the Cobra between the runs and stated what a glued to the road butt kicking go cart. This morning I plan to pick up the car. There was a slight problem on the pressure side of the power steering pump on the end of the last run. There is a leak. I told him not to worry about I will fix it myself. He said, I thought so you build the whole car...:) Woo, me getting exited here............I drove the car on our lot to check everything is fine and working properly ----- now the engine is broken in............ Woo! |
Finally I got the car to drive with the broken in engine. DANG! 473HP/2000# ARE fun - even when you have only a 600 feet stretch. I was really tempted to run down the street around the block.
I can announce the chassis is mechanically done. A few minor things like the foot box covers, seat belts side alu covers - nothing major. The end of August is near and my wife and I looking forward to work more on the body then. With +100F it is not much fun under the carport with respirators to sand a body. Some downsides to the Carbon Fiber body. The shape/form of the quick jacks are different from front to rear. The rear are lager and the front have a kink on top. They are two parts each welded in and outside. http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08599.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08600.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08602.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08603.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08605.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...m_DSC08607.jpg |

The sanding of the body has started with the nice temperatures now. I can only work a few hours a week and not on the weekends.
I'm back in school , getting another degree - way of my current field. Luckily I'm that far with that project, otherwise it would be on the "shelf" for the next 3 years. The decision was made I do not paint my car my self, David Brady will paint my car. I will do the prep work and he will do the rest.I can't spent time to build a paint booth, I really wish but I can't. Soon I post pictures and may a video clip of that "thang" driving. Also and update on the body will come soon... John, thanks for the sanding blocks... |

Quick update here. Sanding, filling sanding. Finally I got so far to paint Slick Sand. I ordered that stuff on Friday. That gives me a few days more to fill a little more and sand. The trunk lid has now the FIA dimples...

The spare tire (17 inch) had to serve as test mule :) http://photos.imageevent.com/germanp...164424_331.jpg |
Do you want it see rolling?
