Try Cobra Restorers, they still list most of it in the catalog.

Kirkham is where I got my differential. Nick Acton sells brackets if you want to use a Jag 4HU. It's a cheaper route.

maxakarudy,
Did you try Cobra Racing? George Petrus passed away last year but in speaking to his son, he said he was going to "give it a go".

Kirkham may also be a source as they offer original style suspension on their cars. I don't know if they sell stuff like that separate though, you'd have to ask.

Jeff, do you know if they sell those suspension parts separately? Would they fit an original car?

I have a couple of bits and pieces kicking around. Are you doing wire or pin drives?

Thanks for the help everyone, I'm following a few leads and will update when I have something concrete to pass on.
As some of you have said, prices seem to be high and in my opnion rediculus, this would stop me considering a scratch build alloy car to original spec.
It's a seed of an idea so I won't commit to a spending plan until I know all the costs and facts.
Mickmate, it could be a 289 Cobra or a Coupe, both options are on the table, so pin or wire, the main issue are the cast parts, ie front and rear uprights and diff housing.

Martin The uprights are some of the cheaper parts of all the suspension parts. From Cobra restorers the rear uprights are $650.00 each and the fronts are $275.00 each. All the other parts add up quickly. For the front you need the stub axle and the upper clevis. The front and rear hubs are a major expensive part roughly $2000.00. The original style brakes will set you back a pile of cash as will the correct center section for the rear.
A jag can be made to work with a factory original style frame if the correct mounts are made. The Jag and Cobra are close in shape . The Jag does not have the front mounting bosses that the Cobra has but can still be used.
If you look here scratch build you can see how close of a fit it is and why a top mounted Jag will not work.
This is the Scratch Builders Forum and here there is a large range of scratch builds. They range from purchasing all the parts and paying someone else to assemble and paint there car. The other end of the spectrum is where they build everything themselves.
You could build your chassis to original specs and use other donor components and when you can afford or locate the correct parts unbolt and then install the correct parts.
If you go this route it will keep you out of the bars for awhile.

Mark,
I especially appreciate all your comments, as I know how far your build has come.
I still have a lot to learn about the authenticity of these cars, information of the right quality is difficult to find, so it's steep learning curve for me and the 289 is rarer than the 427 so there isn't as much info out there that I know of, so I will keep digging.
I have emailed Cobra restorers, but have not had a reply as yet, so I don't even know if they have the parts. Their web pages don't show what some of the individual parts are and I can't find a parts page to identify exactly what I need either, so I'm a bit in the dark still, any help on this would be great.
Regarding brake calipers, I presume they are used on other vehicles are they british or US?
Apologies for my ignorance folks, british sportscars have dominated my interest since I were a lad.
Martin

Not sure because I haven't looked lately but I think Kirkham gets about $5500 for a differential.

I do not know for sure but I think that 289 and 260 cars that were not used for competition there calipers were iron . These may have been used on other cars but I think they will be still expensive and if used will need to be rebuilt which in itself will be expensive. Comp cars usually use aluminum calipers and I am not sure if they fit on anything else. I believe they are Girling

Trust me, original spec cars are not a budget build....
If there is a budget, buy a kit and do it up to be the best one out there of its kind. Or just buy a CSX cont car...
