Default Finally...pics

Sorry to keep you all waiting. Here's the preliminary shots from picking it up and getting it up on the lift.

Believe it or not, they move these cars around with huge forklifts with 15' long forks...And they're actually pretty gentle. I was sure they bent an a arm or something but there were only a couple chips in the paint on the frame tubes...

The only other damage was a trunk lid that was bent sideways and wouldn't latch. Looks like the trunk prop froze and someone forced it. About 10 minutes of work got it back in place.

Of course it rained for a little bit on the way home...

Daddy, I finally found you!

The CSX doesn't look all that bad on the outside. Staying tuned...

Good eye...not mine but I take care of them. The Countach is the major project for the moment, and i should be working on it now actually =)
Its an LP400 - one of the first cars without flares or wings/spoilers.

Default more pics

I'm surprised by the initial lack of damage. Mud is everywhere, but when I removed the air cleaner, the carb was clean and there were no signs of mud/water under the butterflies or under the valve cover breathers.

Gauges look dry, and the seats even appear to have survived. Carpet was torn out and fluids were partially drained by the auction company, but there was no water in the trans or diff and from what I can see looking through the drain holes with a light, there's still plenty of grease on the gears.

Oil was a little cloudy and had just a few drops of moisture in it.

I drilled the main rails with an 1/8" bit and got several cupfuls of clear/orangish water but no crud.

Paint is hazy and chipped in a couple spots down low, but I can save that.

Later this month we'll pull the motor, trans and tear down the diff to see what else is there. I'm excited and am clearing the schedule so we can get 'deep' into it...
