I can tell you from first hand experience that the amount of dealer profit in a SPF cobra would shock you......it is dismal. You can make more profit selling 5mainstream cars at a $8,000 retail with a quicker turn over rate and less headaches & babysitting than you can selling one $45,000 Cobra. Between the registration issues, insurance costs, and hand holding that Cobra dealers have to deal with, maybe consumers should not try to beat them up on price too much. There are a lot of overheads involved with running a Cobra shop, and easier money can be made elswhere. Once I move my existing inventory it will be a long time before I bring in another Cobra.

Default Dynamic, Excellent Points

Again emphasize that I do not want to beat anybody up over price, however, if you view a Cobra as a commodity (this in itself could be discussed forever),; they are viewed first as a factor of their cost versus anything else.

It is really about how one balances emotions/needs against dollar sense I guess...but as mentioned in an earlier response, and particularly in these times, discussions such as the above seem frivolous.

First, there's usually no wavering in the decision...when someone wants a Cobra, then only a Cobra will do. Second, once you decide you want to buy a Cobra, there is no balancing emotions/needs against the dollar sense. You just say, "what's the most I can spend" and then dive in head first.

These cars make NO sense and ALL of the sense in the World at the same time.
