So the guys from Shelby American (set up next to us) came over and asked to use our 289 MK II Roadster as a stand-in for CSX2000 in a photo shoot. Aaron Shelby and Gary Patterson posed with the car as well as the Shelby crew and many Team Shelby members.

If I may ask, what brand of tires is on that car?

Firestone Affinity IIRC. They are one of very few 205/70x15 tires available with whitewalls. They squeal on slow, tight turns due to the limited slip. I am considering replacing them with Avons or possibly Mickey Thompson 215/70 ST tires and adding whitewalls from Tredwear or one of the suppliers. We have used the 215 Mickey's on another 289 and they worked well.

Ross took the car out on track Saturday for the "parade" laps and said the tires felt better than he expected.

Thanks for the info. The tire to get is the 215/70 r15 Michelin XWX but it only comes in blackwall. You could stick the whitewalls on those and have a great tire that looks like it belongs on a slabside.

I've found two whitewall tires in this size - Uniroyal Tiger Paw and Maxxis (Taiwan). I doubt either are much of a performer, but they have the right look.
