You will have way more money in yours than I will in mine, and mine is a Shelby.

I believe at least one fiberglass CSX car was already rebodied with a Kirkham aluminum body. I kind of remember the left over Kirkham frame and CSX fiberglass body parts being for sale, as well as the car going into the registry as being modified that way.

jdog, I am very happy with what I have. Of course I will say that if you do that you will not get the return when you go to sell it if ever.

Sal,
You have owned a lot of quality cars, let me ask you this, will an SAI badge outlast a Kirkham badge in the long run? Do you think, twenty years from now, the buying public will become aware of the specialized qualities of the car and not the badge? It seems to me, right now, the pursuit of a badge name is more important than the quality of the car itself.

I can honestly say there is no "long term" durability advantage to either a CSX or a KMP. Both cars are the same design, and the parts used are also close to equal in quality. The one advatage that Kirkham has over Shelby is the fact that they continuously update their car, changing any ill designed part, and improving any parts that could perform better. That factors into personal taste however, as to whether you like originality or technology.
As for the pursuit of a "badge name", that is definitely a big factor for some people. I am one of those people. It WAS important for me to own a real Shelby, because that's what I wanted. My KMP was an awesome car, and I will always promote the Kirkhams as the top dog in the Cobra world as far as their cars, and their company. But the CSX number has added value over a KMP to what "I" wanted in a Cobra. So yes, some may see CSX ownership as being silly, and some may see it as being valid.
