Fill it with the appropriate gear lube until it comes up to the bottom of the fill hole. If I remember correctly it takes about 2 quarts.
Don't forget about friction modifier if you have a limited slip differential.

Default Rearend fluid

Jeff is right on the mark and be sure not to forget to use the limited slip lube (I think mine came in a tube and cost about
$7 or $8.

Thanks guys........... the problem I have is that the Ford setup I just put in does not have a fill hole in it . I have a fill hole on the top of the third member but not one that is at fill level. Its a Ford case ..... don't know why there is no fill hole. I'm using a Detroit soft-locker so I don't believe I need any additive. Correct? I put in 2.5 qts hopeing that is enuf. Brian

Default Fill plug.....

Brian,
Usually there is a fill plug on the gear case about halfway up on the side. It will have a square or sometimes hex head or socket type fitting. Remove and fill untill the gear oil starts to drain out, then put it back in and tighten. (May have to use a breaker bar to get it loose)
