If you aren't too stuck on the Talbot mirror.......

I bought the bracket from Finishline for mounting on the side of the windshield and used a Raydyot replica mirror that works fine for me. I ended up returning the Finishline mirror because it rattled in the housing and bought one from England that was much better (cheaper too). I am quite pleased with my side view but now have to do something about the mirror mounted on the rod in the center of the windshield. Totally worthless, it vibrates so bad I can't see anything. Some good suggestions above for a clip-on convex mirror.

Since I didn't ever mount a Talbot mirror on my fender, I don't have holes to cover.

Lot's of options.

Olthoff sells a side mirror extender for the coupe and GT40. Call them and see if it fits the MKIII.

Olthoff Racing Perfection

Or you could grow? I'm 6' 6" and the rear view mirror is OK. Not great, but just OK.

I bought a metal-backed stick-on model at the local parts house. Probably the 3.5 inch model. The secret is not to stick it on. Remove the stock item and replace it with the new one using the same technique as the original used to mount the mirror in the mirror body. Your net position is a convex mirror in the original mount that looks perfect and works well. No, you cannot see through the rear fender, but your blind spot is gone.
