Radiator Cap Pressure????

Just wondering what everyone is running for pressure on their rad caps.
I am using a 16lb. & I think I could stand to go a little higher, maybe 20lbs.
Any thoughts or suggestion would be appreciated.
I'm using all the usual stuff, aluminum rad, 408W all the good stuff.

It's filled the puck tank a couple of times over time, once just recently. it usually happens when i'm playing in the garage setting things up. Even when it doesn't appear to be overheating, thats why I thought a higher pressure cap may solve this problem. The car is fine when driving & in traffic, I always turn the fan on when in traffic no matter what the temperature. I would rather keep it from getting hot than try to cool down a hot engine.
Not sure about the cap although it has a large S on the cap & made in Mexico.
Is the Stant cap superior to others?

Next question ,How much pressure do you think the coolant pump seal will take?

16 is plenty. The seal will hold well above that. I prefer to run the lowest pressure cap I can and not 'boil over' in a worst case scenario.

16lbs is around 250 degrees. IF your motor gets to 250 degrees you have other more serious problems than worring about your pressure cap 'blowing off steam'.

a stant cap is about as good as you can get, it usely has a little red leaver to let off steam, you maybe overfilling the radiator, once you fill it up let it puke out what it wants to and leave it be, if it doesn't run hot you are OK, you should try and keep it below 220f degrees, if you are running aluminum heads, they simply don't like a lot of heat
