Default cfm

What is the CFM rating a single 44 idf weber?

My 347 has a 650dp, rpm air gap, 10.1 comp, 238/248@.050 solid flat tappet, 4.1 rear ,tremec, weekend cruiser.

If I was to change the 650dp over to twin 44idf's would I increase torque? hp? Or is it not worth the trouble?

My 48 IDA's flow aroung 330 per barrell but go to individual runners. It doesn't sound like you have an individual runner set up. I think the IR setup is where the torque is created. If your 2 carbs are on a plenum shared by all cylinders, then I doubt you will see a big difference in torque. That is just my guess. It would still look cool!

Given the Webers tunability, I would expect you would see some good improvements in torque and HP, but mainly driveability. The Webber can be tuned precicely right through the rev range where as a Holley is limited to main jet and pump squirters, unless of course you get one modified.

Weber CFM depends mainly of your ventury size (335 cfm for my 48IDF with 42mm venturis). Not sur that a Weber change will increase torque at low rpm significantly. Usually, Weber advantages are mainly between the middle to top end (according to your camshaft characteristics, I believe that expected Weber benefit will be between 4000 to 6500+ rpm). However, a 44IDF works well for a 289/302 engine but for a 347cid I think that a 48IDF with 40mm ventury will be more efficient.
Everybody agree that a good exhaust collector have to be designed with each pipe in the same length to be efficient. I believe that this rule is also applicable to the inlet manifold
