OK, now I have to say... it is so funny to me that we all think what WE have is the best! I think it is silly to say "Oh, you need a big block engine to be more original". But nothing is said of the improved suspension, MSD ignition, raidial tires, fiberglass body, electric fans, etc. I guess we can agree to disagree.

Dwight, I am not sure if you are talking to me but no, stock bore and stroke 351. 8 stack efi about 425 hp and 412 tq. But I know what I have. But seems like if you have a Street Beasts you are considered a bottom feeder. I like my car a lot and I even drove a BB FE 427 Kirkham..... GREAT GREAT car!!! I have not had a chance to drive my car yet(not finished) but with all the work and looking at it can't even think I won't enjoy it. Sorry to ramble..

My SPF #2743 has a Roush 427SR and I love it.
During installation my install mechanic detected a small oil leak from a pinhole in the block. Roush replaced the engine and covered the shipping and re-install labor. I have had no engine issues in 4000+ miles.
I personally can't imagine having a Cobra that's not a 427!

don't forget a Keith Craft 408 stroker 525 hp.
I put one in Mike Hogde's B&B and he gets 13 miles to the gallon with 3:55 gears and a 5 speed.

Superformance MKIII with a Cayote motor.

I'm sure it runs and drives real nice, with lots of power, economy, and great driveability. Easy to live with I'm sure.
However...it doesn't sound right to me, which is a deal-breaker. But that's just me. Nothing like the sound of an FE to me.

After driving Cobras with the pedals coming up from the floor and down from the top like SPF, I realized the driving comfort advantage of the SPF. On long drives in my SPF, I really appreciate not having the pedals in the way and find it much more comfortable as I can move my left foot to wherever I want or even switch feet on the gas pedal.

Just caught this Cobra Braggin
I've been very impressed with KC in terms of customer service (especially when something was wrong and replacement parts were needed). My limited research indicated all the same good parts as Rousch, for noticeably less (allowing me to upgrade to all aluminum). That said, I understand that a 427 Roush SBF runs a bit smoother than a KC (they do a lot of circle track engines). I've done some carb tuning and added vacuum advance (highly recommended for any engine) that smoothed things out a bit. Still a bit bucky during coast but the carb still isn't tuned right. Remember that my 427 is at ~1.3 HP/ci (kinda high). Meanwhile, full throttle from ~3500 rpm is downright exciting! Your choice of a bit lower HP/inch will reward you with really smooth daily driving and extreme fun when you want it. Believe me!
Keep us informed of your progress. Great thrills await you!
Matt

Thanks Matt! I joined this club site last year because I knew everyone here were true car experts and enthusiasts. I really want to enjoy my Cobra when that glorious day comes and I pick it up. So, your advice, suggestions, and valuble input are very much appreciated.
I'm definitely not a car expert like all of you guys, but I am a true enthusiast and I've learned a lot here in Club Cobra. It's because of this that when I finally get my SPF, I know I'll be happy. I'll keep you posted for sure. Thanks again....
Cheers!
Chris
