Why Do Cobra Owners Sell So Fast?

About 15 years ago I lived in South Florida, and sometimes drove my Cobra to work. One evening, I got caught in a Florida downpour on the way home.

I was driving down the Turnpike, and kept the speed up while hunching down behind the windshield like some kind of boy racer. Other than the torrents running down from the windshield post and door frame onto my left leg all was going well...and then I got to the tollbooth.

Someone 5 cars ahead apparently had no cash, and the attendant was writing them a ticket...while I was turning into a well-dressed (suit and tie) but very drowned rat. After a minute that felt like an eternity, I stood up in my car and yelled, "I'll pay their toll!" The attendant looked up, did a double take, and waved the offender through. When I arrived at the gate, she kindly waved me through, too, saying she reckoned I'd suffered enough already.

So if you want to rely on speed to stay dry, fine...just don't ever stop :-)
