But I will be interested to see how it pans out. The booties knocked the motor down 40 and 40, so I will not be using those  E |

I think it's the floor dust on the tread making them look skinny. They are 295's. The 325's are an idea, but I think I would want to mod the rims then to get fender clearance. "they could be 245's and still have more grip than the 305 BFG's!" You are right about that! They should be 295's, that's what I ordered. They look narrow in that pic though. I got the filters from a good friend of mine on "consignment" from Roush to see what will work. I like the filter top with the bubble instead of the flat one. Help me by chanting "Engine go into the car, Engine go into the car, Engine go into the car......" Thanks for the kind words Terry! E |

You didn't remind me to take the plastic off the sidepipes before firing the motor! E :D |
Eric, It's looking sharp! I love the color. Looks to be about the same color as my '69 Mustang- Acapulco Blue.
Bet you can't wait to be touring in it! |
Eric, I knew you would figure out that the plastic coating needed to be removed . LOL , but once again I must remind you that DEER WHISTLES are a MUST . Bill, game warden

Eric, help me out here. What is the large "reservoir?" on the engine left of the radiator header tank? The round one in brushed aluminum. Thanks, Scott
|
Scott,
That is a rather dandy piece that Randall Thomas at Performance Unlimited makes for Superformance Cobras. It is a 2 quart overflow (and most importantly) and recovery tank for the radiator. http://performanceunlimited.com/cobr...thertanks.html Most installers give you a Jaz tank mounted low, which is most useless (IMHO) since it does not allow recovery of any coolant. This unit allows for the cooling system to pull the overflow back into the system rather than burping it out all over the engine compartment, or you have to manually drain it. They are really nice. WOOT!
Just got back from KCM in Plano, and had a chance to work with Rob and Michael on my motor. The idle and WOT tunes were complete, and we focused on partial throttle before and after lunch. One pass at WOT early in the day 514 hp @ 550 lb-ft. I have decided to go with the screens for the air horns to keep rocks and large bugs out of the motor. These were recommended by Dynatek, and they indicated there was no need to change the tune with them. They were right, we lost one (1) hp at WOT, and gained some torque. The screens were part number 99217.250 and bought from Pierce Manifolds for under $40 a pair (4 pr’s required). Pierce has a good website, lots of Weber stuff. I might try the billet air cleaners at some time. http://www.piercemanifolds.com/airfilters.htm Top Down http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...-09topdown.jpg Side Pipes looking good! http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...pes1-23-09.jpg A good day, more dyno needed for mid-range driving. The guys at KCM were great to work with today. Burn-out vids next!!! E |
I want one!!!!
Can we get a group by from KCM?

You will have to ask Keith about a discount, but I know where you will be able to get a real good tune for a 496 FE for free! Eric |
