Post Update

Well Wyatt has done very well on his Alternative Meds .On 9-7-04 @5:30 am he woke me up and said {Dad I'm scared } I replied well son lets pray 2 second later he went into his seizure it lasted around 10 minute, but it was not as bad as the others after a doctors visit .He stated, well he really hated to see that Wyatt had another seizure after 2 whole months.Docter Nickels was very surprised at Wyatt's response to all the physical test that was preformed 5 hrs later .He really feels that we are headed at the right direction .When our bodies are trying to heel their self's we have highs and lows,we believe that what happened he had a low and was caught on a low side . The low was not as low as it originally had been there for he was able to snap out of it and back to his regular self .So all in all he is progressing very well just hated to see him go thru another seizure but it good to know he is getting better.Just thought I would let you guys know .

We cant thank the Cobra Club enough for the prayers and the help we have received from club members .
Thanks again !
Tony ,Nickey ,and Wyatt

Tony,

It brings me close to tears to read about what you and your family are enduring. As the father of two little girls I can only begin to imagine how helpless you must feel watching Wyatt suffer a seizure.

When my four year old was about two and a half she took a header off of a tricycle seat onto concrete. She stumbled in the back door with a huge egg on her forehead, bleeding from her nose and mouth. I was the only one home with her. I piled her into the car with an icepack and drove the twenty-five miles to the hospital in a state of panic, to say the least. I knew she was probably going to be okay when she asked what flavor of lollypop they would give her at the hospital, but all the same it was about the scariest moment of my entire life. Things change when you have kids.

I hope Wyatt continues to improve. Tu y la familia are in our prayers.

Bob

Default Thanks

Your right kids will change your life .They will make you do Crazy things
A short story :

I was feeling real down one day and my Dad was here ,and I was explained to him how much it hurt to see Wyatt go thru the seizure and he told me it hurts him twice as much and I looked at him confused ,he said I have to see you my son and my grandson go thru this .
Our family had been so lucky in our life's growing up wit 3 boys and 1 girl and great Parents .You think it would be great for us as well .
After the lost of our Nephew fighting Leukemia and Wyatt's disorder it is very different .
I know people have gone thru worst things and I pray for them as well .
Thanks for your Help, Support and Prayers .
But lets have a great time at Cobrastock we do not want anyone to feel uneasy.
Tony ,

Post Just Venting /Update

On Monday 11-9-04 pm I feel asleep in the old lazy chair waking up for some strange reasoned I felt I should just retire to the Bed with Wife and son .11:30 pm just laid down next to Wyatt notice his right foot was moving as he was keeping a beat at that time I was wondering it has been 2 months on the 8th since his last Seizure and bought that time his eyes opened and back they went he started he 4th seizure for the 4th month even thou he still vomits he was able to get back to his normal self with in 30 minutes .He is doing well.Wyatt just had a good ck up that morning with his doctor he was really happy to see his progress .After taking him back on Wednesday he said he looked very good and was puzzled by his seizure on Monday night .We just can not pin down what it is causing him to have them .We will be back in Austin for a 2nd EEG and maybe a trip to Houston to see another specialist all before thanksgiving keep him in your prayers .THANKS

Have you ever been Scared to go to sleep, that something bad may happen ?Day after day,

Try to sleep with one eye open and wake up for every move that goes on ?

Been afraid to be left alone with your own kid that you may not be able to help him or her ?

Live with good and bad thoughts and get knocked down for thinking good and starting thinking of negative things ?

I'm sure you have its just the first for me its very tuff isn't it ?

All in all he is getting better just not out of the woods yet. We really feel we are headed in the right direction but just wish it was over ...

Sorry for being so -Negative but just wanted to get it out of my head . Things could always be worst I have not build up the Guts to ask My Sister how see made it thru 2 years of torcher with her son, then loose him .Spend these next Holidays being with families and friends .

Our prayers are with you. Sounds like you are doing
all you can and are making progress. Sometimes it
just takes time. Best of luck on your upcoming checkups
for Wyatt and that he continues to improve.

I have spent parts of the last year and a half working on
restoration projects providing fire suppression systems
for historical buildings in Kalaupapa National Park on Molokai, HI.
There are about 35 patients still living there who have
survived Hanson's disease. One patient who just turned 80
has been there since he was 17. He lost both legs to bone cancer,
has almost no fingers left, and a heart of gold. After all he has
been through his glass is still half full. I call him Speed Racer
because you won't catch him if he is in his wheel chair. For me,
he is the ultimate inspiration. I have been through a lot lately,
including prostate cancer, but having met him, there is no way I
could feel sorry for myself.

What does all this have to do with your latest post? Things are
tough for a lot of people and there aren't always answers, but I
have learned that you usually don't have to look too far to find
someone else who would gladly trade places with you. All you
can do is give it your best shot and pray.

I totally agree - Thanksgiving is the time to do just that and spend
time with relatives and friends - they aren't here forever! You gotta
love 'em while they're here!

Tony,
I'm very glad to read that the Doctors see Wyatt doing better and improving.
I think it shows the great care you are giving him.

I can't imagine the tremendous stress you are going through night and day.
Your Faith in God will get you through this.

You and your family continue in my thoughts and prayers.

Unhappy Not the best way to start the New Year

Ok just when we were hoping for a longer time span between Wyatt's Seizures, we were counting the days from 11-9-04 being his last time he went into a Seizure .On 1-1-05 at 11:05 pm he went into his 5th seizures for 5 minutes not to bad then 20 minutes of not knowing what was going on.The next 2 hours of Crying from his head hurt all the way to his feet .Nickey took him in her arms and comforted him from the start .I laid next to them wondering Why , how much longer do we need to sleep with 1 eye open ,on guard day and night day after day .God only knows .It just very tuff we still can not figured what is causing his seizures just that they come abought every 8 weeks .I guess we just need to pray even harder this year .Sorry don't mean to bring any one down or let every one think the wrong thing .Just want to let the people know how Wyatt is doing .

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers ....

Tony,
What goes around comes around.
Nothing can reach inside and affect you like a trauma concerning your children. We almost lost our son Andy in an auto accident, he was thrown from the vehicle across the highway into a barbed wire fence. Broken back, crushed upper torso., head trauma. First diagnosis he wasn't going to make it, next was no feeling in his legs.
A year and a half later he is back in school, arguing with his brother about who is going to use MY car tonight and he just signed on as equipment manager of the girls basketball team. What goes around comes around.
You hang in there brother, let that little guy know you are there for him and be sure that one day soon you will be taking Wyatt for a spin in your Cobra.
Our deepest hopes and thoughts are with you and your family

The Sides family
