A Change Of Life Over Night
First of all I know I am not the only one with any type of problems but I just want you guys to know what happened .
On July 5th early in the Am My Nickey,Wyatt and Myself were laying in bed after a great day/night of families fun .I was woken up by my 5 year son Wyatt touching me .As I woke up to give him a kiss on hiss forehead I noticed his Eyes deviated to the right side and vomit out of a tuckered mouth I tried to wake him .With no response I jumped up and picked him up Nickey realized there was something wrong and we rushed to the master bath and tried to wake his lifeless body ,no response from him and his eyes stuck open to the right gave me a chill and fright I have never encountered before .Jumping into the tube to run a cold shower on him I manage to clear his air passage and he strated to vomit but still lifeless so we called 911 and in no time they were there he did come to and rushed to the Children Hospital in Austin After blood work and cat scan and other test He was dinognosed with having a seizure. We have been in and out of hospitals all week and doctors offices .With the best result we could have looks like he has a small irregular brain frequency and will cause more seizures for the next year or 2 but should grow out of his stage with good chances .And the help of God and of course thru your prayers .
I have sold my 392W out of my Cobra and Bass Boat to spend the time to be his side, thru this and will do what it take to be there for him .So that means a big step backwards for my Cobra but for the best thing that has happen to me in my Life besides my wife !
NOTE just something to think bought .I drank a little to much out here the Thursday night before ,so bad I had a very hard time waking up I thank the Lord it wasn't that night when my Son needed me the Most !!! I will and not drink anymore to show him I give my life to him .
No hard feelings to anyone just my own experience and I may be taking this to the extreme but that's just Me ...
Love and Peace
Tony Mendez

Thanks for sharing that, and I hope everything works out for you and family. Never experiencing any type of traumatic events with my own family, (3 yr old daughter, 5 yr old son) after reading your experience it makes you realize how little the Cobra means to you and how much your family does. I'd sell or give the Cobra away in a second for the health and safety of my family and I'm sure I didn't need to say it, but it puts things back into perspective. Good luck Tony.

Tony, God bless you and your family, my prayers and sympathies are with all of you, and especially Wyatt...I know he will come through this just fine with the devotion of you guys. The Cobra is just a passing fancy, the wife and kids are for real.

Tony,
Best of luck to your little guy, and your family. I truly hope it all works out well.
It may be some consolation to know that a good friend of mine had the same sort of situation with his son. And, indeed, he is growing out of it. His seizures are less frequent and under control.
Our thoughts and hopes are with you all.

Sounds very familiar to me!!!! My boy, Dusty, experienced the same thing when he was about 4 or 5. We did the horrific hospital thing, various diagnosis etc. In our case we were told he would have seizures the rest of his life and that his condition was likely beyond medical help. Of course we were devastated. He was on medication for several years to control them, and the medicine worked much better than expected.
In a few years he did indeed outgrow the condition and has been seizure free for many years now. He is 15 years old now and doing very well. Were very close and not a day goes by we don't tell each other, "I love you" (just don't try to hug him in public when he's a teenager).
I know the fear and the wide range of emotions you have\will experience. I pray your outcome will be similiar to mine in good time.

Scarey stuff! It is amazing what the Lord will do to
get your attention sometimes. You can always get
another Cobra (engine) but you cannot replace a
child. Fortunately this experience happened where
you were able to get help and on to medical attention.
Spending time with him now is the best thing you can
do for him, so your priorities are right.
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery, answers to
questions, and may it be something he will outgrow
as has happened to some of the other members'
loved ones.

Cars and toys can be replaced kids can not.
Having had my son over seas fighting and the worry that goes with the not knowing from day to day if he was still ok can wear on a man. He came back with out a scratch and I give thanks every day for that.
Take care of your son. Our kids are the most important part of this life. It is not who ever has the most toys wins. To me it is who ever has the most to give to the family.
Enjoy your son and keep him close. Kids grow up and move away all to soon.

Tony
Hope all goes well with Wyatt there. My thoughts are with you and Nickey. You have the thoughts and support of your many Cobra friends there.
You know, I muck around on this 'forum' being the stirrer and the joker, all in fun. But every now and then I am brought back to earth by a "Post" or "Thread" that stops me right in my tracks.
Yes nothing is more important than your family. Hell, there's a heap of parts in my garage here you could take in a blink, so you will easily get the Cobra up again.
I agree with the many 'Posts" and wish you the best.
I am sure that all will go well and you will look back and remember this time as you watch your number one man drive past in your Cobra.
Our thoughts are with you all there.
Bernie
