Jim-
That is a great looking car. I'm around Morris County almost every weekend and haven't seen you driving around. Are you sure you actually drive that car? It's not a trailer queen is it?

Just kidding. Look forward to meeting you and seeing that car.

Where are you guys in Morris County? I am in Morris Plains, we should try to do a local cruise one night. Every night that its not raining I try to take the car out. My usual solo cruise sends me down 202 to rte 53N to denville from there I go north on Rockaway Valley Road(excellent) to rte 23 to rte 287S into Morristown, go around the Green to Speedwell and back home. Good for an hour and a half.

I hope that hood scoop issue doesn't involve a specific rivet pattern!!!

Dane-
I'm actually in Union County, but have a lot of friends in Morristown. I would definetely be up for a cruise night. I'm looking for some good roads to drive. And, if rivets are the problem, Evan is your man

Are you talking about the hairline cracks?? If so, they have been there since I took possesion of the car. There is a 2 inch hairline crack on the hood very close to the front of the hood. There is also a tiny one right in front of the scoop. They are not unsightly, but they annoy me. I feel that the only way to fix 'em is to sand them both down and repaint. one is on the yellow the other is on the white stripe. Im not gonna tackle this one just yet. When I see you guys one of these days you can tell me what you think. (I have feeling next year when I head to Pocono and Lime Rock they are only gonna get worse)

BTW Chap I have a ton of twisty roads north of Rte 80 and a ton of cruise routes through them. Just you wait.

Guys,
When I picked Oct 5 as a good day to go for a ride I never thought that my car would not be on the road by then, but it's not. Have fun, don't speed and don't worry about waxer's and non-waxers. I live in Whitehouse if you want drop by I would love to see your cars.

Mike

Guys:

Tough crowd here today. Just to let you all know, you can only have a trailer queen provided you own a trailer. And no trailer here. The car is a driver, but I must admit, not in the rain and I do like to keep it clean.

Also with the Webers, it has to be driven and needs to be driven. If not, you spend most of your time changing plugs.

I did't know we had so many ERA guys here in northern NJ. I am in Chatham, and provided the car is up here, it is out every week. If anybody is ever heading out would love to join up with you.

Good luck for Saturday cruise, a little sloppy for me. But I must admit, I had the car out yesterday at the shore, and it was a brisk 43 degrees when I was out at 9am.

Roscoe-
I'm going to try and stop by there at some point tomorrow. Not sure exactly when, will depend on when I get my "chores" done.

Jim-
I'm with you- I left the car home this morning because of the rain. The only one who was man enough to brave the rain in his cobra was Turnpike Boy.

Nice little "waxer" coffee clutch. Good time had by all along with some laughs.

Turnpikeboy: You are brave! Kudos to you. I would've been crying on the way home in that rain.

We'll try and make this a weekly thing maybe?

Angry

'Bout the only thing I can cry about is the fact I cannot get into the car without a passenger anymore....and she will not tolerate yahoo behavior - meaning no more than about 3000 rpm in any gear.

Hhmph...damn good thing the car has 5 speeds. Shoulda put a diesel into it, I guess.

Got a little wet on the way back, but no big deal. Besides, it's good for the car, keeps it humble and aware it MUST be driven. Kleenup a bit of a pain in the arse but keeps me from painting, spackling, wallpapering, etc., etc.

A rainy day in your cobra still WAY better than a sunny day in _________ (fill in the blank).
