well, you will not believe this, chit truly happens, not only did it rain on my new baby but on my way back from the Safeway gathering the Beast from Roushverks developed a bad banging noise under the drivers seat whenever I put on the brakes, sorta like I ran over a rock and it hit the undercarriage, plus the vacumm pump for the breaks runs continuously. I will put it on the hoist in the morning to see what has come loose. I guess this is par for the course, huh, and all these little gremlins get to kick you in the ass.
Is this a right of passage for owning a Cobra?
Other than that the car was running like a dream, err, up to that point.

NOW you are officially welcomed in to the cobra club. We ave all felt your pain. Hopefully something minor but yes, a way of life for a cobra, particurlary those that are blessed/cursed to have a Roush motor although that doesn't sound like anything with motor itself. Good Luck and Godspeed getting it back out on the road.

Check you ebrake cables going to each wheel, you may need to tie wrap them so they dont hit anything. Something by your seat? check your transmount and make sure it is tight. Kooky if U ask me. Join SCOF.

Yes, it is. But, in my experience, if you were able to make it home under your power then it's nothing serious. Pop it up in the air, crawl under it, and take your time looking at things. Fixing your Cobra is part of the joy of owning a Cobra.
Over maintenance and worrying is the way to always operate. I always provide overkill to my car. It saves headaches. Gordon, (Levy Racing), Bob Reams, (Old B&R Automotive), Marty Ceruttis (Napa Autocare) always tell me I do not have to buy new batteries, change the oil, change the brake pads, change the hoses, buy new tires, do a nut and bolt check etc. I just do it because I feel like I should.
Don't want to have to buy a battery outside Selligiman when I would rather be drinking wine! whoops!!
Fitz, I don't blame you for being extremly cautious after the nasty experience you had with your big Levy motor and that crazy clutch you dealt with a few years ago. Pink is still picking chunks of volcanic rock out of his knee after trying to push your car out of his cabin's drive way.

Tin-man, This happened to me and you said it was when you put on the brakes. You could feel a pop at the seat. There were a series of Superformance car #'s that didn't have lock tight or the front calipers nuts and bolts. You car # is right there like mine. Check those caliper nuts and bolts first. I had one sheer right off and lucky it was a a low speed not to do any damage. Contact Lance he knows the car #'s effected. It's worth a look for some piece on mind at least.

If true that's really going to piss ol' Tinny off, considering they've had his car for the last six months.
Just a guess, but it sounds like 1) a plumbing problem with that vacuum booster, and 2) that booster may not be secured properly. I have the same unit, and have had the same problems. Once it's plumbed correctly, and secured (check it twice a year) it will be fine.

The affected car numbers were 2600 to 2975. A service bulletin was issued in the summer of '09. Mine is #2708, pulled the wheels and checked, two bolts (one on each front caliper) took a half turn to tighten, whew glad I checked. I removed the bolts, cleaned and used red Locktite and tightened to spec. Checked a month later then a year later and still tight as a drum.

Thanks Patrickt. Guess I'll stick with my old fashion Contemporary. I got lock nuts and lock washers and in some places, even safety wire. I guess I should feel lucky.
