are you going to do FEs as well ????
Very nice. As RodKnock will attest, small children and adults alike cry when you open the hood of a 427 car and it has a small block in it.

Only if they can get past the dual, padded roll bars first!

... and if a customer begged and pleaded with you for a solid flat tappet, you'd put one in for them?

You need to move on, just like technology has. I mean, I bet you have an iPod, iPad and an iPhone, but you're still running a flat tappet.

Just please don't ask him to install a flat tappet cam in anything but an eclectic art sculpture.

Wow, Patrick, it seems like its been a while since you've put words in anyone's mouth. Kiss your 3-month BBFEFA (Big Block FE Fetish Anonymous) chip goodbye.

Au contrair, mon ami! Brent is going to respond back with "Patrick is correct. I refuse to install a solid flat tappet cam. Period."

If someone wanted a flat tappet, I'd discuss it with them...

.....and they would get my "disclaimer."

I was referring to this comment, which you attributed to me, but was yours.

If I'm building another engine, Brent will be at the top of my list of people who I speak to about my new engine.

However, no where in that conversation will I ask or demand Brent for a solid flat tappet cam, for the same reason that there are no rotary telephones anymore nor are there many dial-up Internet connections left in the world. either. Technology has moved on.

So, Patrick, get out your new 3G-enabled iPad and do a little research on the benefits of roller cam technology.

Oh, dang. It's not like me to misunderstand something like that. But I agree with you on Brent. I think he's an excellent engine builder, and a sweetheart of a guy to boot. I would have no problem in having him build an engine for me either. And that would be.... solid flat tappet, please.
