fonti -- From a purely mechanical standpoint, the Kirkham is a better made car. The only advantage that an aluminum Shelby has over a KMS is the name "Shelby." If that's not worth the price differential (and it's not to a lot of people that can easily afford it), then your decision is an easy one.

Pat,

Please explain how the KMP is better than a Shelby from a mechanical standpoint.

Allan

Allan, that's my opinion of course and I certainly don't want to derail this thread. But there have been any number of posts complaining about the final quality on select CSX cars. There are also threads comparing the frame designs, and, the most recently, a thread that I remember that had to do with the front hub assembly. That was an absolute nightmare for one CSX owner. I honestly can't remember a single thread dealing with a Kirkham that was similar. But again, I don't want to derail the thread. And I will admit, there certainly are wonderfully built CSX cars out there....

On the CSX front hub assembly thread. I may be wrong, but I think it was the Kirkhams that finally came to that guy's rescue. Shelby did not. I'm sure others will remember it, and if I'm wrong, they will point it out rather quickly.
