Thanks guys , thats some good info. Am I right in thinking new headers ? What about bigblocks , I'm assuming that will make it more difficult , impossible if its a SPF , are there any other popular kits where a bigblock means no undercar exhaust ?

SDR,
Do you have a kit now or are you shopping? With most kits, the sidepipe exit is cutout after the body is popped from the mold. You can simply tell the manufacturer to leave them be if you're going under-car exhaust. Nothing is impossible and I've seen more than a few SPFs street cars. Check out this thread. I mean seriously, isn't this just the ugliest thing you've ever seen?!

Every time I see a picture of this car I think that this is about as good as a car can look. Drop dead gorgeous.
My street roadster is seen in post #28 of the thread referenced above. It is a combination of both S/C and roadster features. Roadster exhaust, bumperettes and dashboard. S/C hood scoop. Roll bar is neither. The stripes add a little bling. If I can just have one car, mine is the way I want it. It is just that that green car is so pure.

Aside from riding in a side piped big block car,and disliking the roar, plus climbing in and out of the car.Seeing one of these pictures convinced me to go with undercar exhaust.Having one parked in my garage makes me a happy and contented individual.

You are going to have to get custom headers for under the car exhaust, unless you have an original type frame, and I think Cobra Restorers has a tri-Y set up. I think Gibson? makes street rood short tube headers thay may fit some chassis's, summit racing has a list of street rodder headers for FE, 385 application. Superformance has manifolds for 351W for under the car exhaust, I'm not sure for BigBlocks.

Still looking Buttrick . My thoughts are a used cobra , in this economy , is the way to go . ( Some guy once told me not to build to save money ). But S/C's are more popular than street , and I prefer the look , safety and don't hate me ; the sound .

Roll bar needed top modification.
