Lookin good!! Keep the pics coming - this is a very interesting project. Can't wait to see the finished car.

Impressive work, tilt nose 289..... Cool
|
FYI, that is not the final body. That's a test body being used to check fitments with all of the changes going on.
|
Is there really an FFR in those pictures???

This is easily one of the most interesting threads on the site. I can't wait to see the finished product.

More... front backbone structure :MECOOL: I might need to update the title of the thread. Not as much of a FFR mkIV chassis anymore...

Just curious....will you be using sidepipes or will your build have an under-car exhaust, perhaps a street style with exhaust pipes out the rear?
Very interesting thread!! Cheers from Dugly  |
It will definitely have sidepipes. Custom headers / exhaust.

Bruce sent some good pictures this week...
Trunk with reworked rear frame. Lots of changes back there. IRS owners, look closely... http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr.../L/trunk-L.jpg http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr.../frame01-L.jpg |

Foot box plugs. Molds will be made from these then the final pieces will be made. The foot boxes will be white gel coat on the outside. The inside of the box will have black tint to the fiberglass.

More updates... steady progress. The project has grown in complexity. The good news is all of these molds exist now. The head scratchin' and figurin' has been done... almost.
Footboxes... trunk tray... Front Mold section (for Flip front...) http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr...rFootbox-L.jpg http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr...rFootbox-L.jpg http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr.../L/Trunk-L.jpg http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr...ontMold1-L.jpg http://jmimac351.smugmug.com/289Cobr...ontMold2-L.jpg |

Raced at VIR last weekend at the 24 hour Chumpcar race. One of the teams there was from Stewart-Haas. Picked up a few blower motors for $5 bucks each! Thanks Tony!
