The anticipation is the best part. Not many times in your life do feel that emotion and excitement. Savor the moment and enjoy it.

This is true. Once you start going through the process of the shakedown runs, resolving little gremlins, dealing with your first rock chip, etc., then the romance starts to wear off some. But after a long day or when you need an escape, all you have to do is sit in the seat and fire her up and suddenly your problems dissipate. I believe this to be true with any performance car, cobra or otherwise.

The single biggest drawback right now is the car is being assembled in California and I am in China, I can't even take a peek at what's happening other that at a picture. Thus the angst is excrutiating. Roush supplied me with the sound during the dyno test and the engine started with a roar like a lion, no kidding, thus the Beast was born. Oh well, I have only got 26 days and ten hours to go, but who's countin"? John, AKA, tin-man

Power, Torque and the Host Cobra
The Beast of Roushwerkes with his Bowler torque controller are ready to violate the slender lines of the Gazelle from Africa. Can't wait for this symbiotic relationship to transition into an American Legend.
Hooray, I finally figured out how to upload big pictures.

Nice pics tin man. I am curious if Roush is now supplying those air cleaners(I bought the first set they made) or did they offer them as an upgrade to the K&N that first came with those motors?

Hey Tin,
I know your Baby is a Toy for when you are back in the states. Do a little dreaming and tell us what a trip from your China home to work would be like. What kind of reaction would a fire breathing beast like this evoke in rush hour traffic? dream on brother!!

I was offered these at US1,700 the set from Roush but I suspect they would be less if purchased direct from the manufacturer and while on the expensive side I thought they looked great, so added them to the engine build. Roush also supplied me with the K&N air cleaners since they were part of the original polished engine quote, so I can go either way.
These air cleaners are from Clay Cook Enterprises, check out their website they have some awesome stuff on offer.

The more I look at this picture the more I believe the Beast of Roushwerkes is the correct name for this piece of work. Once its got the tranny "strapped on" its gonna "prang" that gorgeous Gazelle from Africa. There is something very powerful about that visualiation and the transformation this symbiotic relationship brings with the birth of an American Legend,.. particularly when you smack its ass for the first time and it lets out a roar and a deep gut wrenching growl that makes grown men tremble.
Regardless of a self built or purchased Cobra, when it breathes life for the first time I have to believe it leaves the owner in a very satisfying state of shock and awe. with the understanding wow, this is all mine and it really is what I dreamed it would be.
It would be interesting to hear some of the reactions our Club Members experienced when they first breathed life into their creation.
Deep,Huh?
Cheers, John, AKA,tin-man

I have had mine (SPO 2811) now for a few years and about 8k miles and it is still a thrill to drive. The closest thing to a high performance motorcycle for a mind clearing drive. I have had a number of performance cars (Currently a Z06 Corvette and a Porsche Carrera ) and they are fun BUT NONE OF THEM come close to the Superformance. When you light that thing up you will know you are in something unique....you will love it.
