Though I know Patrick would disagree, I'm that dumb and/or gullible. ;) :p

Bob will reply but it's obvious you're on Kress' 'ignore' list.

I think this entire thread has been an April fools joke.

RodKnock 04-05-2011 02:44 PM

You can take my name off the list.

I'm in the process of buying an extra set of aluminum wheels. Once I get them powdercoated, probably a bright gold, then I'll get a set of BB's and mount them up.

ERA Chas 04-05-2011 03:01 PM

If you get gold, I'm changing your screen name to Flava Flav and getting you a clock...

RodKnock 04-05-2011 03:15 PM

Well, I thought about powdercoating them white, but then I would have to change the color of my sidepipes to white too. Well, I don't have the wheels yet.

Are you serious? Not that the list means much. :o

We've become such cynical jackasses that I don't even know when I'm making a joke.

Maybe I should just clean up those dusty mags I have in the garage.

ERA Chas 04-05-2011 03:43 PM

If you must coat, ask the coater for a magnesium finish.:) I've seen iridescent finishes which have subtle gray/green/gold blends, like a Canton pan.
An idea I like better is to consider chroming them which goes perfectly with your chrome bodywork. Chrome, with all the letters removed from the BB's will look serious. Of course, all of these will add pounds to your garage floor.

rodneym 04-05-2011 03:47 PM

And while you're at it, a polished cammer and pipes.
Then you could call your garage a museum. ;)

If you're going to do that, then I insist that you embed a diamond in your central incisor.

April Fools! Suckers!

Though I am serious about buying an extra set of aluminum wheels to screw around with, but they would be a dark gray or black to simulate unpolished magnesium like a photo here on CC of CSX4323.

Bright gold? White? Puh-leeze.

But Rodknock, how could that be an April Fool's joke?

Bright gold, white? I can see you doing that.

RodKnock 04-05-2011 04:06 PM

Well, if these magnesium wheels ever are made...(insert joke here).....then I'll probably have two sets of aluminum wheels to sell.

I should add to my April Fool's joke that me buying a set of BB's is pretty far-fetched as well. I'm an Avon fan.

Avons will be my next tire. But if I put Avons on mags I would negate the weight saving!

BB's on mags would be pretty darn light.

RodKnock 04-05-2011 04:19 PM

When the entire US economy returns to normal sustained growth with increasing housing prices, then you might see a mag wheel production run from someone. I don't think either will happen for years.

There appears to be only a handful of interested parties.

rodneym 04-05-2011 04:24 PM

....and the interested parties are a handful.
