Though I am serious about buying an extra set of aluminum wheels to screw around with, but they would be a dark gray or black to simulate unpolished magnesium like a photo here on CC of CSX4323.

Bright gold? White? Puh-leeze.

First off-it's April fifth.
S'matter with chrome?? Larry N. Johnson loves it.

Well, I said I'd see it through to the end. End of what I'm not sure. I guess the end of my wits. Or the end of everyone's patience.

Hey, if Rodknock, Lew and the rest are still in, then I'm ridin this baby till the mags fall off (of ERA Chas' Cobra). 32 pages of posts? I'm just getting started.

RodKnock 04-05-2011 05:32 PM

With any luck (bad), the arrival of my extra set of aluminum wheels will coincide with the announcement of the next run of magnesium wheels.  **)

I'm still "in", but "in" what I don't know.

I suppose so if winning the lottery is also still possible too.

If I make the move to 20's or 22's, then yes, fully chromed or polsihed wheels would be a possibility.

Rodney,
Has Bob Lacey failed to contact you or declined the project?

Rod,
Since it was my idea to try him, I'd still like to know...

He doesn't give a shi*, you know that. On a more positive note, my Richard says the cam for Lykins is now on the way back from the nitriding process, so it won't be long now. I know you're anxious for those pics.;)

rodneym 04-14-2011 08:16 PM

Sorry, Chas. I didn't see your question from 4/10. I don't want to keep kicking this can with no news.

Last I spoke with Bob (last week) he was still collecting information. He said he'd call when he has a definite answer.

Fran is awol. I have a couple calls with messages to him. No response.

I know, it's looking BAD.

You know. One of you is going to get REAL butt-kicking if I see this thread anymore. Bury it.

On another note, my 2nd set of Trigos should be on their way to me now. I've decided to powdercoat them lime jello green. :p

Oh yeah??
Watch Lacey say "we're up and running and will deliver the first sets as soon as that ASS Rodknock gets his SECOND set of T'go's powdered...":LOL::LOL:

Riddle me this Batman: why would a guy that puts 100 miles a year on a car want EIGHT wheels??

Gee, he answers MY phone calls!

Umpteen pages on wheels no one makes yet, perhaps a prime example of mental masturbation?

That's an excellent question. Spares, of course. I have spare oil filters, spare distributor cap.......

The magnesium wheels will NEVER be made. I actually sent a couple emails out to the various parties recently and received no response(s).

My best hope would be to find a set on eBay.

Yes, but he buys things from you, like that very pretty blue GT40R that's presently for sale. :D

There's more to all this than meets the eye.

After nearly 16,000 views, nearly 500 posts and 34 pages, I would have to agree with this sentiment.

rodneym 04-15-2011 10:47 AM

I got lucky today! Must be cause it's my birthday. Fran picked up the phone! Maybe he thought it was Mark IV.;)

Bottom line: Fran's list isn't big enough. He mentioned about 7 or 8. His run would entail 25 sets. I'm sure he wants a bigger portion of those sets in immediate sales.

I'll do some PM'ing tonight or tomorrow to the original 'list' and see who's left. Darren mentioned a few sets. I would be in for 2 if it made a difference. Maybe if we add 5 or 6 sets to Frans list.....well, he'll let me know. He told me to call him next week and I'll get his definite NO. I mean, answer!

I have no problem letting this go when I get definite answers. I said I'd see this to the end.

Halibrand is a NO.
Trigo, NO.
Fran...will know be next Friday.
Bob...we'll see.

Sorry to keep ruining people's day with this thread but I'm an irrepresible f*kc.

Well at least it's an avenue for Cobra driving armchair funambulists to get there aggressions out. :JEKYLHYDE

What's the saying? Dogs don't bark at parked Cobras?
