Granting Chas up to $700/wheel (Bob's price) and buying him a year supply of any beer that comes in a spun magnesium bottle, and the tagline, is a bet I can afford to lose.
We can even make a movie. And a flag girl.

Chas - about your mandate...there's nothing I can do about that.
Mandate, wife? I see potential for a play on words. Patrick!!!!

O ye of little faith! C'mon, Lacey will at least give it a real shot and communicate in a timely fashion. Richard sorta surprised me in a negative way-after all, his company is the 'historic' franchise. Didn't think he'd be so 'unsympathetic' so to speak. RodNEY may find some chemistry with Bob he couldn't find with the other two.
Gotta go now-starting the 4 hour stint on the third wheel with 60 grit...you'll just love mag.

Oh stop already. The M&A Castings' website claims that "WITH NEWER HIGH PURITY ALLOYS THAT ARE NOW AVAILABLE, CORROSION IS ALMOST NON-EXISTANT."  :p

(yes, you've already pointed out the misspelling at least once)

We have the best weather here and my car is garaged with a car cover on it. I don't see how any corrosion could start. Not that it matters.

Eh, maybe I'll paint my Trigos a dull gold or gray. %/

BULLDUKIE...

Man, just tell people you have 'em. In the dark, under a cover, never seeing the light of day-who's ever gonna know???

rodneym 03-22-2011 10:18 AM

I just spoke with Fran. He's still waiting to hear back from his people.

Bob Lacey is also working on details. I'm waiting for his call.

Hanging by a thread here......

ERA Chas 03-22-2011 11:19 AM

Your first line is the same song you've heard for months-it has the word "waiting" in it.
Your second line is very promising-it has the word "working" in it.
Your last line is a pathetic attempt at humor by a man on the very doorstep of suicide...

But Fran is the only guy who's made mags recently. Plus he makes other mags on a fairly regular basis...

I've got some hope for Bob, but it also has the word waiting in there.

And I'll save the 'doorstep of suicide' for when I drop in the 800hp beast.

No disrespect to anyone, but this thread seems worthless and is now aggravating.

BTW, there's an old ad here on CC for a set of Halibrand magnesium wheels with tires for $3,200, but the fronts were machined for ERA and thus Kirkham and CSX owners would have to use a 0.4" spacer, which is something I'm not intersted in doing. Not sure if they're still available, but for an ERA owner looking for a set of magnesium wheels, they're an option.

I'm now exploring other non-magnesium wheel options for my car.

Here's another challenge: How many different words can you come up with using the letters D-O-O-M-E-D? :p

Here. You remind me of this guy. You can solve his Top 10 riddles:

patrickt 03-22-2011 12:20 PM

I grew up on Adam West. You know that he does the voice over for a cat in one of the cartoon series that my kids watch? You can't miss that voice if you grew up with Batman.

I know buddy and am disappointed. Oh passing on this mag soap-opera fine-don't blame you.
But trendy black is wanting to do something out of boredom. It's against your lightness credo and not a 'natural' finish like the rest of your beautiful car. And painting centers gold will clash with the chrome body work.
If you MUST do something, get yours fine-glass beaded for a more 'vintage' look. Like deese:

You're funny. Yes, I'm thinking of those two options.

Before my car left UT, Joe at Kirkham was kind enough to satisfy my curiosity with the unfnished FIA's on my car. I didn't like it.

As for magnesium wheels, I won't give up on them, I'll keep looking on eBay and such, but Rodney keeps making me suffer "the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune."

You see. I'm so ticked that I'm starting to sound insufferable like Patrick now with the Hamlet schtick.

That's because I know that you're not as dumb as everyone thinks you are.;)

Sheesh! It was just a weekly update.

BTW, have you seen the threads lately?

ERA Chas 03-22-2011 02:08 PM

Dude seriously-if I owned your car I wouldn't touch it-except to make 600HP music at every opportunity and never think about what wheels are on it. Sorta like a shiny Jamo deal...

They'll perk up as soon as Brent's cam gets here and he starts building his SFT FE. And then when he breaks it in and it locks up....:3DSMILE:

You're right. Fluid, shifting, T5, oil, horsepower, frontal lobe missing......

(just kidding littlewave)

Chas, I do like to tinker with the simpler things, you know, because people (Patrick) think I'm dumb and my wee little brain can only handle so much.

Patrick does enjoy calling me dumb when he can. I thought that "FIA suitcase panel" idea that FatBoy did was interesting and Patrick called me dumb. I'm seeing a pattern here. He hasn't called the mag wheel idea "dumb" yet, but I'm sure that can't be far behind.

You're taking scheiss from a guy that hatched the "drill-holes-in-your-plate-light-and-put-xmas-bulbs-in-it"?? In 1000 posts and pix?? Get hold of yourself man.
You owned a 540 Mid-year, remember? You ain't dumb.
(Well a little-you should still have it...)
