I'M SORRY ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
That was a TYPO ! !
BUT $1,100 EA IS NOT A TYPO.
That's $1,100 EA, front or rear. With or without powdercoating. In any backspacing.
Sorry about that.
It's not like anyone rushed to call Fran and give him a deposit on a $16,400 set of wheels. Well, maybe Rodknock. We know he's loaded.
I hope I didn't cause any heart attacks. I know some of you are old timers

Uh, weren't you the person looking for an original CSX2000 or 3000 car not too long ago?
If I had your money, I'd burn all mine.

Clearly you misunderstood me.
I was looking for a CSX DODGE DAKOTA SHELBY.
Yup. All purdy like, too.
Sunroof top. Diamond in the back.
BTW, when I said you were loaded, I meant drunk.

For me, it's not the $400 extra, but the fact that the price changed since mid-November. I do understand stuff happens too.

The whole aluminum SOHC head and timing cover story over on the FE Forum gives me pause.

Just for the record - I am really going to make Mag Wheels - and you will be able to pick your backspacing - they will not be marked Hallibrand or Cobra, but will be marked 7.5 or 9.5. I only need orders for 25 sets to proceed - if you really want Mag wheels call me 412-441-5750 - If I get your depost before March 1, the price will be $4000, after March 1, the price will be $4400 a set.
Thanks - Fran Kress

Thanks for adding to the thread, Fran.
Looks like we'll get some mags made after all!
Halibrand said they need a little more time. Maybe they'll have their info by your discount deadline. May the best man win.
Could there possibly be a choice for us?
If that happens, I'm buying a lotto ticket.
One way or another...

...and a thought I had for either producer. Will the valve stem holes be in the Halibrand locations or Trigos?

Good question.
I was assuming the original Halibrand location, since they're direct copies of the original 60's wheel, but one should never assume.

Indeed a good question. My Trigos have them on the 'inside' and the Compomotive wheels on my Autokraft have them waaay out there.

I wonder in Fran's terminology if the Dow 7 treatment is the powdercoating? It sounds like Richard has a two-step process. The Dow 7/pickling and then the powdercoat.
Yes, I have several pics from the last Halibrand wheel run and I posted one earlier.

Ya-Fran's elimination of the logos got me wondering. I suspect Richard's will be original-style.

Rodknock - As far as the terminology is concerned, I'm pretty sure they're both on the same page. When Fran said "Dow 7 only" to me, he definitely meant no powdercoating colors.
ERAChas - I'm pretty sure Fran left out the logos for 'obvious' reasons.

Now I'm thinking about powdercoating the entire wheel a black satin including the outer lip like "Jeffy" did with his ERA FIA wheels. I love that look.

Would you paint your KMP? I would do that to aluminum wheels Rod-not mag. Sorta defeats the idea. And coatings add weight that you're spending a fortune on to shed.

I'll never say never on the paint, but you're right, it does defeat the purpose of buying a magnesium wheel.
I forgot my plan. Which was, once the Trigo's come off, then I may do that to the Trigo's if and when I get bored.
Besides all the other nonsense, at some point, when these wheels do get installed, it will necessitate the purchase of some new Avon's.
