That explains why a gallon jug of milk can effectively hide behind a small container of mustard in my refrigerator....and here I thought it was some deficiency on my part, when all along it was related to the particulars of the male DNA genetic code, and therefore not an issue for potential "self-improvement", IMHO .

Be sure to confirm the temperature limitations of your final choice of seal...Melting, fire or both would make for a bad day...

Think that's enough?...sunny, hot summer day, end of a spirited drive, car parked in sun, heat soak from engine & headers, no airflow...etc...
Perhaps a MSDS on the foam material you can purchase at JEGS for the same usage would give you a feel for the temperatures commonly found under the hood? Maybe knowing what temp vapor lock occures at will give an indication of the common under hood temperatures you can expect to see...Heck, your coolant is 195 degrees minimum...Just thinking out loud here...
