Mine clean up pretty well. I had a bad skin and sinew stain on my driver's side pipe, but I found that 409 cleaner took it right off.

The VHT hi-temp (+2000 deg) black I've seen is pretty flat. I haven't seen a hi-temp satin black paint yet. VHT makes caliper paint in satin black but it's only good to 900 degrees. That probably would be short lived up near the engine.

i've freshened up mine a few times now.......i use the black over the silver, then i use VHT's clear high temp over that for a little shine...
