A car is the sum of its parts, and csx figures into that. When I was younger and was building my Bennett car I wanted to make it as (authentic) as possible. Real Smith gauges, the right steering wheel, seats with the right suspension, side pipes with the correct turns where they attach to main pipe, not prefab collector, the roll bar showing behind the seat, English handles, latches, windshield , lights , I have to thank Ron Butler for those finishing pieces and so forth. I laugh now because you open the hood and yes there is a real MR side oiler in there with the correct top loader but there is no main frame rails just small tubing, the engine is set way back and the push rod suspension shows. In back you can see the sheet metal 9" ford Independent rear end. I guess I just got confused. The Bennett car is what it is and CSX cars are what they are. You have to decide what floats your boat and do your best to fulfill your dream. Everyone s dream is different, do what moves you and have fun. If you want Shelbys deal you will have to deal with Shelby American and The dealer network along with the price.

Don't kid yourself. The profit isn't in the roller, it is the $650 they want to charge for a glovebox and 1200 for stripes. Also profit is selling motor and trans combo and the $10-20k they charge for install to fully completed car. I would guess the final out the door profit margins are 20%-30%

Nothing wrong with profit or making as much of it as you can. The market will determine the correct amount of profit justified.
We all look to make as much profit as the market will bare. Nothing wrong with SAI and dealers doing the same.

The name is worth millions...millions...
I am sure they don't need my advice, and so I will give it...
They are pissing away any oportunity to make any money by developing way and I mean way to many models....
The developement and construction costs for so many models are wasted... they should concentrate on those models that made Shelby a world brand.. make one or maybe two Cobras and one or two Mustangs and quit screwing around with so many models and variations that just canabilize sales...
Focus on quality, dealer relations and timely delivery....or someone will buy the name and make a bundle.

Real one,
I don't disagree at all. I own 3businesses and without capitalism this country will continue going down the tubes even further. My point is I don't have too much sympathy for cobra dealers that claim they are only making 10% on the roller when we know they make much more on the other items. I just wish people would tell the whole truth

Of course, unless said company receives government subsides and/or has a monopoly. But that's a different thread in some political forum.

Agreed. Then the subsidies should be repaid.
Agree also with Sai making too many models and variations.
Agreed. Capitalism good. Socialism not good. U.S. now on wrong road.
