Supercharged Unique Motors Cobra
Dear Club Cobra Members,
I'm a new member and have never owned a Cobra but am strongly considering ordering a "turn key" 427 model from Unique Motorcars with a big block 428 FE (converted to 4 bolt mains) running through a 5 speed. I really want a barn burner in the quarter mile and am thinking about a centrifugal supercharger. The engine builder however is recommending a normally aspirated engine with about 500 horsepower and thinks the supercharger is overkill; says the car will already be difficult enough to launch as it is. As much as I don't want it should I consider a C6 automatic tranny for optimum quarter mile times?
Any thoughts or comments regarding the supercharger and/or automatic tranny would be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Chad Tidlund
