Simple. This took me three minutes on TESS. Ford owns the Cobra trademark. Shelby is licensed to use it for the Shelby Cobra roadster.

Noone else can attach "cobra" to their replica. Ask Factory Five.

Why use 4 references when 1 will do.

Jamo, those pink fuzzy slippers with the rabbit ears??? Are those original or replicas?

Sorry - could not resist.

For those who want to stick it to the big wrist, big watch guys.
I don't need no stinking watches - Bumphrey Hogart

Ring Clock
... orange or blue energy-saving LED lights for complete visibility throughout the day and night. Simply rotating the ring around your finger will give you the current time with its separate hour, minute, and second indicators.

Dimis,
Have you ever met a champion? I mean a true, world class champion.
How about a captian of industry? No, not a rich guy but a real mover and shaker.
These aren't your average people. Most would probably call them A-holes.
As much of a "snake oil salesman" that he was, he was still a thousand times more of a doer than a talker. His, "get the F out of my way" and "nobody can take what's mine" attitude is what makes outliers champions, and champions outliers. Doen't mean he's the kindest or smartest guy in the room but he was the most capable.
We're all doing what we can, but he did what he had to do. It can be argued all day long and sure there's exceptions, but people like that don't necessarily make for easy going nice folk.
Do I love what he did? Absolutely.
Would I want to do business with him. Likely not.
Nice guys finish last.

Yep, and I prefer not to even socialize with them. I don't even like going out to dinner with them. They can make even a fine French dinner a stressful event. Your point is very well taken.

Well, lookie who showed up. Look what the cat dragged in. And not even a mention of an ERA. Wow.

Mighty fine weather we're having.

Hey, I forgot to mention it to you guys, and gals too, but I picked up my new CA "Legacy" license plates the other day. The 1960's style black/yellow license plates, so I'm hoping more people will think that I have an original genuine authentic real Cobra.

This thread just keeps getting better.

"No matter what you do, it is a sow's ear."

I would put in the well know comment about polishing a turd, but what's the point?

So Congrats Rodknock, the authentic license plate with the authentic license plate frame...it is no longer a replica.

I have had the honor of having dinner with several influential people. In his day Ken Olsen (Digital Equipment Corporation) was quite powerful, but in a social environment was just another guy who didn't want to talk business in those environments. At the same gathering were other members of his staff, and I will always consider C. Gordon Bell as a mentor.

I had the honor of meeting and talking with Admiral Grace Hopper. Wow. That lady was a LEADER.

I also took a Six Sigma class in the 80's. It was taught by the originator, W. Edwards Deming himself. We were trying to bring the strategy into other than manufacturing - software engineering - as a pilot program. Deming taught his class, which mostly was about management, not statistics. Later we had dinner as a group since he also was interested in finding ways to apply six-sigma techniques to non-manufacturing processes. Again, a humble person who was willing to teach as well as learn.

Evan...Ron and I (and Brent) have watched you denigrate and attack folks who cared to disagree with you on your constant tirades against other makes of Cobras and their owners for years...no make that well over a decade. You are the one who has started most of the threads and disputes about this divisive issue than anyone...by a far margin (note the recent two threads you started up in complete disregard to my instructions to keep it all here). Your comments instigate the bickering...nobody even talks about it until you start it. You've been suspended for it several times over the years. You've become the issue, not the cars...you are now the joke. It has little to do with these cars, but you are blinded by so much self-promoted attention, that you fail to see it.

So...don't attempt to play the innocent victim. It doesn't become you.

This place is for the enjoyment of the hobby, and not your personal playground to instigate this crap and enjoy the attention you're getting.

And for those that pick and poke at you to try to ramp you up, the same applies.

The purpose of sheepherding you folks into one thread was to hopefully make it clear to all of you just how assinine this is...and I even used the occasion to try to get folks to talk about crap that was just as boring and meaningless to this hobby...for example, my freeking watches. Hell, I sometimes put myself to sleep talking about them.

So, if you're now going to whine like a little baby, I'll take that as a slap on the wrestling mat and call the match done.

This is a hobby about Cobras...originals, real/genuine Shelby modern replicas and replicas built by other mfgs that created this industry/hobby while Shelby was shooting game in Africa, to the extent that he saw another business venture to tackle...as rodnyem eloquently points out, using his own brand of business ethics rather than a heroic racing icon, the mix of which created the Cobra in the first place.

Go blog it somewhere else, and thanks for proving my point.

Now...final warning...the next one that brings up the subject or pokes/prods anyone else to try to get it started...well, you'll be on the outside looking in.

Don't send me PMs or emails arguing about it, and you'll be wasting your time whining about it to my fellow mod or the owner...they think I've allowed too much of this crap.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
