And for the record, Evan also owns a Boss 302LS and a Boss 302 clone track car, but from what I've heard through the grapevine, neither one will ever see actual track time.

Neither will his new Porsche according to him. Should be no surprise to anyone, Evan is all about image, 8400 parade miles through town
is quite commendable if that's your gig :)

I'll be the first to admit that I've not raced my Cobra at a track, BUT I don't sit around on my fat a$$ either. Watch the video and if any of you want to form a team to compete this year in Monterey, just drop me a PM or email. ;)

Then you better not step off the curb or leave the house.

I believe Evan enrolls in open track events with groups like HOD, Trackacardia and Track Daze to mention a few. PCA has many track events as well. SAAC has one at Mid-Ohio this year.

It is fun and safe. Not racing (point to pass) but go as fast as you like.

No thanks! My bones hurt just watching the video!

But I do know a gal in Seattle that would love it. She runs 10 miles a day, then kayaks about 5 miles or so, then swims across Lake Washington and back (2+ miles), then rides her bike who knows how far...
She is a maniac for this stuff. Does lots of triathlons.;)

I beat myself up doing extreme sports years ago and paying the price now!

Every person has different goals.

Mine: To be pound-per-pound the strongest man in the senior citizen golf league. :p

Bernica, no pain no gain.

The point being is that some of our CC members were expressing that we all don't get out there a race our cars around a track, but there are some here that do challenge ourselves in other ways. Though I don't think driving around a golf cart and drinking beer qualifies.:p

I have run around the Irwindale short track in modified several times and have done well there (also been black flagged once) and I have been through driver training and plan to do more. Working on getting myself and the Cobra in shape to be able to run Willow Springs and Fontana this year. THAT'S my goal. Left the golfing scene for the time being.;)

If Evan wanted to stand out, he should have one of these.
If I had unlimited funds, this would be way up to top of my list! Just such a beautiful car...styling and performance wise. Always loved them.

I tried to keep up with one in the Cobra on an empty toll road here in SoCal on the way to a show a few years ago. He played for a while, then ate me for breakfast!

Yep, these days I prefer my competitive events to be held at obstacle race courses or in the gym and not sitting on my a$$ in a car or a golf cart :cool:

Its been nice out up here in NE.. Snow is gone.. Cobra or my other cars go out every day. We are into drag racing. The Cobra won't be goin there.. Car would look like crap after you did all the safety stuff PLUS I am old an want some protection if something happeneds. The other cars are legal and safer :D:JEKYLHYDE

Sure would love to see some videos of our former member actually lapping a race course in traffic in one of his "race cars". Just because you can buy a race car doesn't make you a race driver.

It's sad that some people's identities and egos are defined by what they own. Take away their "status symbols" and they revert back to being the "little fat kid that gets chosen last!"

Interesting that when we all called him out on his misrepresentation of his kit car to the general public he sells it. Once he was forced to accept it as a replica, it was no longer useful in plumping up his ego. Thus, it's gone.

Just thinking out loud. I'm probably wrong.

Wow. No wonder Evan always referred to so many as "the sour grapes crowd". Can you people think of any more ways to insult him? You sound like the people I remember from grade school, who maybe WERE chosen first, but are now mowing my lawn.

Wait a second. If you get yourself a "looper", then you're not carrying your bag? Sheesh, carrying the bag is the majority of the workout.

BTW, whenever I hear the word 'looper" I think of the famous and classic scene from Caddyshack where Bill Murray's character talks about being the "looper" for the Dalai Lama and the the famous movie line "Well, at least I have that going for me."

Hahaha, YES! That is exactly why I chose that term.

With my knees walking for a few hours is just fine.

Besides, I'm creating an employment opportunity. :):)

You've been spending too much time alone wandering in the neighbors cornfield again, haven't you ;)
