... but if we just look on the "sunny side," that little twisty gives us all a wonderful opportunity to upgrade our parts (since it didn't put us in to a tree and kill us).:)

Both great pics and they say it all!!
SFI scatter shield bellhousings, driveshaft hoop(s) etc are all a must!
These pics are the facts in evidence....
Thanks for sharing.;)

I probably have more experience building and racing cars than a lot of you.

I started drag racing at 17, and built a Pro-Street Camaro.
468ci Ratt, 600 HP, Muncie Rock Crusher, Narrowed Ford 9". High 10 sec car.

Started racing Karts as a child, on to 100cc shifter Karts, Mini Sprints to the 360/410 Sprint Cars, that would definitely scare the hell out of you guys.

So, why am I getting all this crap from you two ?

If you can't stop being critical and not positive to this build, then just quit responding, I'm tired of you.

I'm trying to get my "high sprit for life" back after getting scammed and all my bad health issue's, and your not helping. If you don't have anything good to say, then don't speak at all. ;)

May not look great today, but back in the day, my car was cool.
And built most of it myself.

Hell dude. Wasn't trying to get on you! I only responded in the spirit of letting others know. I know you know what you are doing for sure! BTW, that's a nice car you have there!;)

Is that a "back half" car? Looks like you tubbed the wheel wells. Again, very nice...

Kevin, It still looks cool today. '78 Z28 was my first car... mint California car and I hacked it all up making it into a race car.

FUNFER2 07-11-2016 03:35 PM

Yes, the back half was tubed and chrome moly tubing chassis and roll bar.
4-link suspension and adjustable shocks. Stock front suspension with drag shocks. If I recall correctly, the best time was 10.86.

Since I helped a man that raced Dirt Late Model's, I got Av Gas (aviation fuel) the engine ran pretty cool on the street. When I changed to Sprint Car fuel (Methanol) it ran too cool, unless in heavy downtown traffic on a blistering hot day/night.

I sold it to that man's son (to buy our house) after he *****ed and complained to him that he wanted a street car and not go IMCA racing (go figure) ?
He tore up almost new 33" Mickey's to the cords, and the Corvette flywheel and clutch in three weeks. Then, showing off when a friend was working the pickup window at a Wendy's, dumped the clutch, spun, and took out the entire corner of the brick building, and totaled my/his Camaro !

My wife Patty told me not to sell it to him as he will wreck it, but I though he'd be ok, year, right !

He totaled out his first car, a nice 68' Camaro, lost his license in one year after totaling my car, putting the whole family on Risk Aid insurance. 5 (good) girls one bad boy. His dad Lavern, spoke with my father (attorney) and he told them not to let the kid to drive until he was 18, which they did anyway, and when he totaled my car, the insurance company dropped all 8 family members.

Lavern and his wife came down to my parents house asking what can they do now, Dad said,...you can now all ride motorcycles ! **)

Lavern had a very,...successful carpet business and he had to hire a guy to drive him to his job sites.

Great man, great race driver,..... but very stupid ! :JEKYLHYDE

It's RodKnock you have to watch out for. He's the one who suggested you sell a kidney overseas in order to finance your FE. Personally, I thought that was in poor taste.%/

Don't involve me in this.

You make your bed....., uh, actually, your housekeeper makes your bed, you lie in it.

patrickt 07-11-2016 05:12 PM

Yes, in my snuggly Vineyard Vines pajamas with the feet and flap on the rear.:3DSMILE:

FUNFER2 07-19-2016 03:01 PM

PLEASE,...keep them flaps closed. Don't want you to be humiliated that there's little to see inside. :p

patrickt 07-19-2016 03:05 PM

Uh huh. Have you made any progress procuring your engine?

FUNFER2 07-19-2016 04:36 PM

Not bloody lately. Need to get on selling the sprint car parts. Just haven't been feeling well enough.

But, I do have a very interesting & possible buy from a member here, for a stacked injection system, and a great,....price. Has almost everything needed, but it has an old FAST computer system that needs upgrading. My buddy Chad is a dealer for "Mega Squirt" and he suggests the MS3 Pro. He can get it a lot cheaper than I can of course. Apx $900 and around $400 for other items needed, or replaced.

Good used system is around $8,000 and I'm way,...way, less than that. He really does not want me to advertise the price, so I'll say you'd be shocked.

He bought a beautiful Kirkham from the original owner that did not take very well care for it and did not drive it much at all. David is almost rebuilding it from top to bottom.

He's had a GT-40, other Cobras and races other types of cars. I guess David want's the car to go back to the way it was promoted back in 2004, with a carb & turkey pan and special one off air scoop mounted under the hood.

My dream engine is a side oiler, a Paxton supercharger with stacked injection, so I may get at least two of the three. lol....

We've talked several times and have many other common interests. He's not worried about the low price.

Don't worry, I spoke with David and he checks out as one heck of a guy and very honest. So, don't get on my case. ;)

Ya know, don't worry, be happy ! lol... :3DSMILE:

It's really hard to pass up this deal.

Bernica 07-19-2016 05:24 PM

Sounds great FUNFER2! Best of luck on the purchase and keep everyone posted!

FUNFER2 07-19-2016 05:49 PM

Thanks, we'll see what happens. :3DSMILE:

dallas_ 07-19-2016 09:10 PM

If it's who I think it is, yes, he is a good guy. :)
