I just got this a couple weeks ago (501). Planning to build "Ollie the Dragon" - sure the intake goes and will be replaced with Weber's 48IDA.

That will be fun!!

Bernica and dallas_ like this.

You won't like it - CSX3009, the Essex Wire Cobra. It's painted a very, very extreme light shade of beige (white).

All kidding aside, it should be a nice build though.

"Out of the box" is great, but even some hand porting can add quite a bit of power. CNC porting is awesome, can bring a lot of power,..... but expensive.

Brent, what do you recommend for best bang of our buck ?
Do you have any bench flow number results between the two and costs ?

What other massaging techniques , mods, etc should be performed ?

Like I said, you can spend a butt load on heads, to get maximum HP, TQ, so what should I have done and not break the bank for things/parts, that won't make a big deal ?

Especially,...what needs to be done to the FE heads ???

Maybe I should start a new thread about heads ?
Yes,....no ?

Long list, here just some highlights:
Ford 460 seasoned block
Eagle Crankshaft 4.140
Performance rod and main bearing
True double roller timing set
Manley push rods
Comp Cams ground, hydraulic rollers
Edelbrock cylinder heads
Edelbrock intale (goes)
Holley 950 CFM (goes)

The engine produced over 600/600 hp/ftptq

I'm still tinkering what tranny and rear end to match.....that's a ton of torque
