Tom,

Sorry 'bout the insurance - I was hoping you'd have a big enough payout that you'd share a bunch of it with us

In any case you need to heal up, then post a dancing video of yourself so we can vouch for any future insurance.

Tom,

Wishing you a speedy recovery from your snake bite. One of the hazards of having a cool car, is having hot pipes !

Have posted in other thread.
Had leathersmith make driver/passenger exhaust pipe shields.

Show Side
Thick black leather with red pull strap.
Relief gussets allow them to form fit around door opening.

Hot Side
Kevlar fabric sewn to leather with Nomex padding inside.
Total heat barrier even at full operating temp.
Thermal limit of Kevlar is 800F.

Full length wood dowl sewn inside next to pull strap.
Makes it flop out flat and easy to roll back up.

Velcro sewn along opposite side attaches to carpet.
Stays put but removeable for cleaning etc.

Store rolled up between seat and door.
Can be deployed or recovered while seated.

@ navyedo , the Hospital gave me (Mupircin 2%) Couple other club members also said SILVADENE, but the Mupircin seems to work pretty well, Thank you David. @Unique427 we have a great Interior guy just up the road, I will ask if he could make up a pair for me, Again Thanks everyone for your well-wishers. You gentlemen never cease to amaze me. Cheers Tom.

Alfa02, TOMMYROT, I'm thinking you are undoubtedly using this little bite as an excuse for scoring some wonderful Oxycodone

Yeeooouch!

Hope you heal up soon! After seeing these posts I think I might preemptively order some heat shields for my Superformance while I wait for it to arrive.

Oh... and "hi" everyone! Been lurking a long time absorbing all the awesome knowledge here while I wait for my car to arrive.

Damn Cheers Tom.
Tom,
You, jumping around on one leg after contact (though funny as it may have looked from afar, yet painful to see up close) does not qualify you as a "dancer". Just Sayin

Tom,

Heal well my friend, you now have your own patina! See you tomorrow. Brent

(PS: If you're anything like me, you're going to want to perfect that patina and do it again while you still have remaining ointment. )

Thanks, Chicagowill So rolling around on the grass, doesn't count as dancing either . Back in my younger days, I was a drummer (We made mighty fine racers, and fairly good dancers) I'm smaller 5'6 1/2" and being in a band, the girls thought I was little, cute, and funny. Now-a-days the girls think I'm short, funny looking, but with a really "Neat Car" they pat me on the head and say "Good Boy" now sit down you need to rest, after the first dance Cheers Tom.
