I thought all SPF cars used a welded-in transmission cross-member.

I seem to recall a considerable effort on the part of SPF to discourage owners from replacing the welded-in cross member with a bolt-in equivalent a couple of years ago. Something about structural integrity and the unhappy potential for death and dismemberment sort of events, if I recall …
