pg 61, july 03 issue, kit car magazine...
hmmmm....lets just say there are still some editorial liberties being taken in this adv which states :
* "only true original cobra available today" ...say what ? original ? don't think so, not built in the 60s
* "why buy a replica when you can buy an original"...say what ? original ? dont think so , not built in the 60s. it is a REPLICA, plain and simple
* " original instrumentation" ...oh really, just found some NOS laying around from the 60s , eh ?
* "invest in your future by buying the real thing "...well, future value is questionable for any replica relative to purchase price..however, this is at least the 'real' thing, a 'real' shelby replica, but NOT original. pay your price and take your chance, like all replicas. mileage may vary, results may differ as the attorneys like to caution us...
someone said 'service they offer' was mentioned. not in the adv i saw.
no reference in the adv that the car is available as a do it yourself kit or completed roller by the way, ie, without engine/drivetrain. conversely, no mention that it is there either, but " performance upgrades available" to some might infer power train vs whatever else.
i dont intend to pick fly crap out of pepper, but this adv still leaves a few smiles re adv copy when i read it...hey, i am not a flamer. the adv is less antagonistic than before but i dont buy it ! ya can't perfume all the pigs, some of them still smell is what my
PR friends tell me.
