I second what Roscoe said. Often they are looking to see if they can afford it. I typically give a range with an average. 25-100+ for the range, 40-60 for the average. I do not tell them exactly what I have spent.
If they have a real bad attitude, I ask them if there girlfriend wife swallows. Normally I am told that is none of my business to which I responsd "exactly"!
