I'm 22. I just got my cobra about 2 weeks ago and I'm hoping to have it running within a month. It was a trek to pick it up in texas and haul it back to california but from what I understand it will be well worth it when it's done.

Well, I am 14 and my dad is 36. Every time I see a Cobra, my heart races and after I hear it, I can't wait to see or hear one again. After we get our house build, which will be about a year or so, we will start building our very own Cobra. My dad wanted a Cobra ever since he was about 12, and I first "got bitten" by the Cobra when I was about 6 and wanted one ever since.:D

I'm 23 now. 2 years ago, I did a photoshoot with a CSX series car in the Seattle area. The owner took me for a ride, and that was enough for me. He had around 525hp from the 427. Wheelspin at 80km/h, and sounded amazing.
I got my FFR into my garage about 2 weeks ago, and hope to have it done before my 24th birthday. I feel very fortunate to own one of my dream cars at such a young age. |
I'm 43 going on 17. Still in the planning stages for my first Cobra. It will be an FFR, mostly non-donor build with a 351W running AFR heads, a Demon, Tremec, and a 3.55 limited slip in the 8.8 rear. Ford 1998 Royal blue with white stripes and PSE wheels

my second one
My first cobra came to me in 1996 at age 28, my second cobra at age 34! I have been blessed to have owned two of what I consider the coolest cars ever! And also a great site to share our passion with like minded cobra people!

Purchased my first ERA 19 years ago when I was 37. I figure I will only get in three or four more before they take the keys away and slam the lid down.

I am now 33, and bought my Cobra about 8 or 9 years ago. At the age of 24 - I definately had the pace on most with a Cobra, but I used it to thrash everyone at the race track rather than on the road.
Now with a wife and two kids, the Cobra is a toy that doesnt get used much - but its always there - and one day I will be 40 like most of you -and I might have more time and money again! |
31 and building my first and hopefully last!

51 and just about destroyed my first and its not yet painted. Five or six Street Rods prior. Cheers Bernie |
Could have bought my first at 21 (1965) used for $3300 but no back seat. Now redeeming myself (backseat is less important) at 59, so the average is 40.

This is a great site for the Cobra lover. I saw one when i was 14 years old and have wanted one ever since. I recently started my own buisiness and finally will have the resources to buy my first Cobra. I'm 26 and plan to have her on the road before i hit 30, it's great to here that there are more people out there that have the same passion that i do.

%/ Yeah I was about your age when I first saw a Cobra in Australia at a race meeting. Thought it was great. Played around witrh a few Street Rods and built my Cobra over the last 2 years. Had an RMC Cobra for a few years but never finished it. This current Cobra (see gallery camera) is in being painted right now. I enjoyed driving it in gelcoat for six months placing over 10,000 miles on it in that time. There are hundreds of people out there with your passion from all over the world. All will help you as you make your way through your purchase or build. Welcome to clubcobra. Cheers Bernie |
im 17 and helping my uncle build his BDR. Would love to get one of my own but know it wont happen for a while.

Great stories all.
I've always admired Cobras along with Ferraris, Corvettes, and other high-performance automobiles. I saw my first real-life Cobra on a trailer in PA while driving to a R/C aerobatic contest. About a year later, I saw another one while vacationing in upstate NY at a parking-lot car show. I felt as I did the first sighting- I'm going to get one one of these days..... FFR 5191K was delivered mid May of this year (2004). While progress is slow, it should be on the road spring 2005. I'm 43 years old, single parent of two teens and refuse to call it a midlife crisis. Building things is what I love to do. The very best to you all! Marc |
